Find which stage is making the text look blurry
Compare the same page in three places: in the browser, in other Windows applications, and in the screenshot file. This is a practical way to narrow the cause; without details about your browser, Windows setup, display, and capture method, the symptom alone cannot identify one cause.

- Only the webpage is affected: check browser zoom and text sizing, then compare another site.

Check browser zoom and text sizing
Reset page zoom and compare
Browser zoom changes webpage content; Windows display scaling is a separate control. In Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl+0 to reset page zoom. Edge also provides default and site-specific zoom controls in its settings. Then compare the page at its default zoom with a higher or lower zoom level. If the appearance changes, page zoom is part of the symptom.
The W3C lists Ctrl and + to zoom in and Ctrl and – to zoom out on Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS. Browser text resizing is not the same as zooming the whole page. Text resizing and zoom may not work consistently on sites that do not meet accessibility guidance. W3C guidance on resizing text.

Check whether the issue is site-specific
Compare a second website at the same zoom level. If one page looks fuzzy or responds poorly to zoom while others look clear, that points toward a page-specific rendering or accessibility issue rather than proving a Windows-wide problem. Chrome has an official Windows troubleshooting topic for fuzzy or blurry text, but the available guidance here does not establish detailed Chrome-specific menu steps; avoid assuming that an Edge setting label or path is identical in Chrome. Check Windows display scaling and DPI behavior
Windows uses display scaling to keep interface elements usable at different display sizes and resolutions. DPI describes the relationship between display resolution and physical display size. Some older or otherwise non-DPI-aware applications may be scaled by Windows after drawing their interface; Microsoft explains that this can make text and other elements look blurry. - Check whether more than one app is affected. If Windows interface elements or several applications look fuzzy, the symptom is broader than one website. If only one application is affected, its DPI handling may matter.
- Check the display resolution and scaling settings. Confirm that Windows is using the display’s intended resolution and review its scaling setting. Change one setting at a time and compare the same content.
- Do not disable scaling as a blanket fix. Microsoft warns that changing DPI compatibility behavior can make content too small or cause clipping and overlap. The result depends on the application, so weigh those trade-offs rather than treating less scaling as automatically sharper.
When only the saved screenshot is blurry
If the page looks crisp on screen but the saved image does not, focus on the screenshot path rather than changing browser zoom or Windows scaling first. Open the original captured file and compare it with any version that has been pasted into another app, uploaded, compressed, or resized. A softened copy after one of those steps suggests that stage deserves attention; it does not establish that every capture problem has the same cause.
