Websavers.ca is a Canadian hosting provider offering shared and WordPress hosting, virtual servers, reseller hosting, Exchange email, domain registration, and website repair. Its advertised speed and uptime figures are company-reported, while the independent performance evidence available here covers one 2024 Montreal VPS—not current shared or WordPress hosting. For a Canadian site owner, the practical decision is whether a plan’s site and resource limits, full-term price, and support scope match the site you need to run.
Which Websavers is this?
This review concerns Websavers Inc. at websavers.ca, the Canadian provider. A separate business at websavers.co.uk uses a similar name; its UK services and pound-denominated prices are not part of this review.

Websavers Canada lists shared and WordPress hosting, managed and unmanaged virtual servers, reseller hosting, Canadian Exchange email, domain registration, and website repair. The mix is aimed at site owners and web professionals who may want hosting, email, or server services from one provider.
Which shared hosting plan fits your site?
Websavers positions its three shared plans by site size and resource needs. The advertised minimums are in Canadian dollars and vary with the billing cycle selected; the company also says USD checkout is available. Check the live cart for the complete term total before choosing.
#1 Best Overall
| Plan | Websavers’ stated fit |
|---|---|
| Helium | Lightweight HTML sites or WordPress sites with limited images |
| Carbon | An average website with light-use email |
| Titanium | More than one website, or greater storage or CPU needs |
These descriptions are a starting point, not a workload guarantee. Before ordering, compare the current plan details for site count, storage, fair-use limits, backups, and migration terms with what your site and email actually require. If you are choosing among providers, compare the full billing term and renewal cost, data-location needs, support scope, and performance for your own workload—not just the entry price.
What does Websavers cost after renewal?
Websavers says hosting renews at the same price or with an annual increase of no more than 5%. The shared-hosting page also advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee and migration for each year of prepaid service. These are provider-published terms; confirm that the current terms and checkout total apply to the plan and billing period you select.
Because the advertised minimum depends on billing cycle, compare the amount due for the full initial term with the expected renewal charge. A low monthly equivalent can reflect a longer prepayment rather than a month-to-month rate.
What performance evidence is available?
Websavers’ own figures
Websavers says: “As clocked by StatusCake, our average page load time across all servers is just 0.5s and our average uptime is 99.99%.” The company-information page does not identify the reporting window, sample, locations, or test site. Treat the numbers as Websavers’ aggregate claim, not as a guarantee or an independently reproduced result for a particular plan.

A third-party VPS benchmark
LetsHosting’s 2024 test examined one Montreal Websavers VPS configured with four CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD storage, a 1 Gbps connection, and 5 TB monthly transfer. The report recorded average I/O of 1,467.7 MB/s and a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 5,049. Those results are specific to that VPS setup and test; they do not establish current performance for shared or WordPress hosting. The report also notes that network results varied by location.
Shared and WordPress performance remains plan-specific
There is no current, reproducible independent benchmark here for Websavers’ shared or WordPress plans. The VPS figures should not be used as a proxy. To evaluate a plan for a real site, test the exact service and workload over a meaningful period, recording the plan, site stack, cache state, monitoring frequency, test locations, and results. Those details are what make a speed or uptime claim useful to someone choosing hosting.

What technical features does Websavers describe?
Websavers says its shared hosting uses nginx reverse-proxy rules, integrations with common WordPress caching solutions, SSD or NVMe storage, and server-density management. It says shared hosting does not use Memcached or Redis, citing security and overlap with its database cache and PHP Opcache; for some large or complex WordPress sites, it recommends a file-based object-cache option. These are descriptions of the provider’s approach, not controlled evidence that every site will be faster.
Recommended Free Tools
The provider’s shared-hosting FAQ stated in October 2025 that its servers used MariaDB 10.11 LTS and supported PHP 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4, with the latest version typically set as default. Since this information is dated, verify the PHP choices in the current control panel or ask support before migrating a site that depends on a particular version.

How much support should you expect?
The Client Centre offers system-status information, searchable knowledge-base articles, and an “Ask an Expert” ticket route. The WordPress page also describes managed hosting tools and optional managed troubleshooting or hands-on support. If you do not want to diagnose server or WordPress issues yourself, confirm exactly what assistance is included in the selected plan and what falls under an optional managed-support level.
Trustpilot showed a 3.8 score from two reviews when accessed. The profile also cautions that the company had not recently invited customers to review, so the sample may not be representative. Two reviews are too few to support a broad conclusion about customer satisfaction.
Quick Recap
Who is Websavers a good fit for?
- Consider it if you want a Canadian provider with shared and WordPress hosting as well as VPS, email, and related services, and the current plan limits fit your site.
- Look closely at support scope if you need someone else to troubleshoot or manage WordPress and server issues; optional help may be a better fit than a self-directed setup.
- Ask for plan-specific evidence if performance is central to your decision. The company’s aggregate monitoring claim and one third-party VPS test do not answer how a specific shared plan will perform for your workload.
- Confirm commercial details before paying: billing term, total checkout amount, renewal wording, included migration, and any support option you expect to use.
