RTINGS found good contrast in dark scenes and low fan noise, but also weak brightness against ambient light, inaccurate color and high gaming input lag. Wanbo’s listed 1100 ANSI lumens is a manufacturer specification, not an independent brightness measurement. The 2025 model and older X5 Pro listings also differ in some details, so check the model name before buying.
What the Wanbo X5 Pro gets right—and where it falls short
In its review of the X5 Pro 2025, published March 12, 2026 and modified September 23, 2026, RTINGS found good contrast in dark scenes and minimal fan noise. Those qualities suit films and other viewing in a room where you can control the lighting. The same review describes the projector as dim, with inaccurate out-of-box color and limited color volume; ambient light makes the picture harder to see. RTINGS’ Wanbo X5 Pro review recommends turning off nearby lights for a better picture.

That makes the room—not the advertised lumen figure—the key part of the buying decision. Treat the 1100 ANSI-lumen rating as a published manufacturer claim, not proof of how bright a particular unit will look in your space. If you need a picture that stays vivid with daylight or lamps on, this is a poor fit based on the independent review.

The current Wanbo X5 Pro 2025 page lists a physical resolution of 1920×1080. Wanbo also advertises online 4K playback support, but that does not make the projector a native 4K model: the panel’s listed physical resolution remains Full HD. It can accept downscaled 4K/60Hz signals, according to RTINGS, which likewise is not native 4K display capability. Wanbo’s X5 Pro 2025 product page and RTINGS’ review distinguish the listed resolution and supported input capabilities.

Specifications and model-version differences
Wanbo’s current X5 Pro 2025 page and its “X5 Pro New Upgraded” specification sheet share core figures, but speaker power and some listed functions differ from older X5 Pro specifications. Don’t assume that a listing titled X5 Pro has every feature shown on the 2025 page.

The current-page figures are manufacturer claims on an undated page accessed October 7, 2026. ProjectorCentral’s release and discontinuation dates apply to the older X5 Pro listing, not automatically to the separately labeled 2025 model. Wanbo’s “X5 Pro New Upgraded” PDF lists dual 5W speakers, automatic correction, HDMI, two USB ports and 3.5 mm audio. Wanbo X5 Pro 2025, ProjectorCentral X5 Pro specifications and Wanbo’s X5 Pro New Upgraded specification PDF are the relevant references.

Placement: measure before mounting
The listed 1.25:1 throw ratio helps estimate the distance needed for a chosen image size, but this projector lacks optical zoom and lens shift, according to RTINGS. Those omissions limit how much you can adjust the image optically after placing the unit. Automatic focus and digital correction can make setup easier, but they do not replace moving the projector to get the right image size and position.
Wanbo lists a 40–140-inch projection size for the X5 Pro 2025. Treat that as a manufacturer-listed range, not a guarantee that every size will look equally bright or suit every room. Before fixing a ceiling mount or choosing a shelf, confirm the throw distance for your screen size and check that the lens can be aligned with the screen without relying on heavy digital correction.

Gaming and smart features
Gaming is a weak point
RTINGS reports high input lag at all tested resolutions and refresh rates, and frame skipping at 1080p/120Hz. The ability to accept a downscaled 4K/60Hz signal does not establish fast response or reliable high-refresh gaming. For games where timing matters, these findings make the X5 Pro a risky choice.
Google TV and audio depend on the exact listing
RTINGS identifies the X5 Pro 2025 as an upgraded version of the base X5 and lists Android 11/Google TV. Wanbo’s current 2025 page names Google TV and lists dual 6W speakers, while the older ProjectorCentral specification gives dual 5W speakers. Confirm the product label and seller’s specifications rather than assuming the older and 2025 units are identical.

Who should consider the Wanbo X5 Pro?
- Consider it if you mainly watch in a dark room, want a native 1080p smart projector, and value good dark-scene contrast and low fan noise.
- Look elsewhere if you need strong performance with lights on, dependable color accuracy, or responsive high-refresh gaming.
- Check placement carefully if the projector must fit a fixed position: its 1.25:1 throw ratio is useful for planning, but it has no optical zoom or lens shift.
- Verify the exact version if speaker output or correction options matter; the 2025 page and older X5 Pro specifications do not match on those details.
