Wachete Cannot Monitor a JavaScript-Rendered Page? What to Try

When Wachete misses JavaScript-rendered content, check the preview in Dynamic mode, try another monitoring location, and treat Forbidden responses as a separate access issue.

If Wachete misses content that appears only after a page runs JavaScript, open the monitor preview, switch it to Dynamic, and check whether the exact text or value you want to track now appears. If it does not, try another monitoring location. For API-created monitors, set dynamicContent to true. A Forbidden response is a separate access problem, not proof that the page needs a different rendering mode.

First check whether the content is actually missing

Open the monitor preview and look for the precise text, number, or other value you want Wachete to monitor. A page shell loading successfully does not necessarily mean the content you care about has loaded. Wachete’s FAQ recommends checking the preview and changing its options when content is missing or improperly loaded.

Switch the preview to Dynamic

  1. Open the relevant monitor’s preview.
  2. Check whether the target content appears in the current preview.
  3. If it is absent, switch the preview to Dynamic.
  4. When the content appears, select the page area or content you want to monitor.
  5. Save the monitor and check its latest preview or captured value to confirm Wachete is tracking the desired content rather than only the page shell.

Wachete describes Dynamic mode for content rendered with JavaScript and says to try a different monitoring location if the preview still does not load correctly. Its features page describes support for modern dynamic sites, but that product description is not a guarantee that every site or access-control setup will work.

If you create monitors through the REST API

For a page whose monitored content is rendered with JavaScript, set dynamicContent to true in the monitor configuration. Wachete’s REST API documentation describes this field for JavaScript-rendered page content. The field requests dynamic handling; it does not ensure that a site will allow Wachete to access its content.

Separate rendering failures from Forbidden responses

If the monitor receives a Forbidden response, the site may be blocking automated access. That is different from a page that loads but omits content until JavaScript runs. Wachete’s FAQ mentions a rotating residential proxy as a possible option for bot blocking. Consider it only for that access-blocking case; it is not the normal fix for missing JavaScript-rendered content, and it may not resolve every restriction.

Use ScreenshotNeo for a one-time visual check

If you want to inspect what a page looks like as a screenshot while diagnosing it, ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first for that separate, one-time capture task: it removes cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before the shot, and only clean shots are billed. A screenshot does not create or replace a recurring Wachete monitor.

Or skip the browser setup

Make a single GET request to capture a page as an image or PDF. For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of the target URL. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com -o shot.webp

ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and the Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free and get 1,000 screenshots a month with no card.
