The vivo X500 Pro and Apple iPhone 18 Pro are close in screen size, but their published specifications point to different priorities: vivo lists a faster-refreshing display, a long 85 mm-equivalent telephoto camera, and high-capacity battery with fast charging; Apple emphasizes three 48 MP cameras, including a variable-aperture main camera, and its iOS platform. Those specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in real use. Choose based on the hardware and software that matter to you, then verify local price, network compatibility, and warranty before buying.

Are they equally compact?
The screen diagonals are close: vivo lists 6.36 inches and Apple lists 6.3 inches. That is enough to describe them as similarly sized by display diagonal, but not enough to establish which feels smaller in hand. The available Apple material does not provide a matching set of body dimensions and weight, so a direct size-and-weight comparison is not supported.
For the X500 Pro, vivo lists a height of 151.78 mm and width of 71.92 mm. Color affects the stated thickness and mass: Night Shot is 7.95 mm and 192 g, while the other named colors are 8.12 mm and 197 g. Grip, balance, and the effect of each camera bump also cannot be inferred from diagonal measurements alone.

Display: higher listed refresh rate on vivo
The X500 Pro’s China specification lists a 6.36-inch AMOLED screen with 2660 × 1216 resolution, 10-bit color, and a 1–144 Hz refresh rate. Apple describes the iPhone 18 Pro’s 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display as supporting ProMotion up to 120 Hz.
On the published maximum refresh-rate figures, vivo’s is higher. That does not by itself prove a smoother or better-looking screen: brightness, color accuracy, reflection handling, and how refresh rate behaves in everyday use require evidence beyond these headline specifications.

Cameras: a long telephoto versus a variable-aperture main camera
What vivo specifies
vivo lists a 50 MP main camera, a 64 MP APO telephoto, and a 50 MP autofocus ultra-wide. Its product page identifies the main camera as 24 mm equivalent with an f/1.57 aperture and the telephoto as 85 mm equivalent with an f/2.52 aperture. That gives readers a stated long-telephoto focal length to weigh against their own portrait, distant-subject, and framing needs; the megapixel count alone does not predict image quality.
For video, vivo advertises a maximum dynamic range of 17EV in Log mode. vivo says the figure is based on its laboratory and may vary with conditions, software, and product. Treat it as a manufacturer claim, not a result from a comparative test.

What Apple specifies
Apple describes three 48 MP Fusion rear cameras: main, ultra-wide, and telephoto. Its page lists 4× and 8× optical-quality zoom and four main-camera aperture settings: f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8, and f/4.0. Apple says the main camera adjusts aperture automatically for lighting and depth of field and can also be used with manual Pro controls. That is Apple’s description of the feature, not independent evidence that the iPhone outperforms the vivo in a particular shooting situation.
The two camera systems are configured differently, but their published specifications do not settle results for low light, portraits, moving subjects, stabilization, or video quality. A controlled, matched test would be needed to name a camera winner.

Battery and charging: published numbers are not an endurance test
vivo lists a 6510 mAh typical battery capacity and 6305 mAh rated capacity for the X500 Pro. It specifies support for up to 90 W wired charging and 40 W wireless charging, while noting that actual charging power varies. These are China-model manufacturer specifications; they do not say how long a charge takes in every setup or how many hours the phone lasts.

Software, region, and purchase checks
The X500 Pro’s cited China specifications name OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, along with dual nano-SIM and a set of 5G bands. That does not confirm that the same configuration, software experience, or network support applies in every country. Apple identifies the iPhone 18 Pro as an iOS phone; the cited material does not establish update-duration comparisons or the cost and effort of moving between ecosystems.
vivo’s listed configurations and prices are for China: 12 GB + 256 GB at CNY 6,499; 12 GB + 512 GB at CNY 7,499; 16 GB + 512 GB at CNY 7,999; 12 GB + 1 TB at CNY 8,499; and 16 GB + 1 TB at CNY 8,999. They should not be treated as prices in other markets. Tom’s Guide reported a US iPhone 18 Pro starting price of $1,199 on September 9, 2026, but that report does not establish what either phone costs locally now.
Quick Recap
- Confirm that the exact model sold in your country supports your carrier’s network bands and SIM requirements.
- Check local stock, warranty coverage, and software availability for the specific regional variant.
- Compare same-market prices for the storage configuration you would actually buy; do not compare China list prices directly with another country’s retail prices.
Which phone fits which priorities?
- Consider the vivo X500 Pro if its specified 85 mm-equivalent telephoto, 1–144 Hz display, Android-based OriginOS, or stated charging hardware better fits your needs—and if the regional model and support are confirmed where you live.
- Consider the iPhone 18 Pro if you want iOS and are drawn to Apple’s listed three 48 MP cameras, optical-quality zoom claims, or variable-aperture main camera.
- Compare further before deciding if camera quality, all-day endurance, compact handling, or value is the deciding factor. The specifications here do not provide matched camera or battery tests, complete body measurements for both phones, or same-market prices.
