Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteShort answer: the vivo X200 FE is the more compact option and the only one in this comparison with a documented 3x periscope telephoto camera. The OnePlus 15R is the performance-focused alternative, built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and advertised LPDDR5X Ultra memory with UFS 4.1 storage. Neither is automatically “better”: your decision depends on whether you value pocketability and optical zoom or the OnePlus platform and its larger-screen design.

What separates the two phones?
vivo’s compact body and optical-zoom hardware
The X200 FE measures 150.83×71.76×7.99mm and weighs 186g according to vivo India. Its 6.31-inch screen is substantially easier to use one-handed than a typical large-screen flagship. The practical benefit is not only reachability: the narrower body is easier to grip, carry in a pocket and operate while walking or commuting.

Its rear camera system also has a clear hardware distinction. The 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope camera provides 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation. That gives the phone a physically dedicated telephoto lens for portraits, distant subjects and tighter framing. The 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor has OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide covers broad scenes. The 50MP autofocus selfie camera is unusually high-resolution on paper and can focus rather than relying on a fixed-distance lens.
OnePlus’ named Snapdragon platform and larger display
OnePlus India identifies the 15R with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent benchmark results. A chip name alone cannot establish gaming frame rates, sustained performance, heat or battery endurance; those depend on software, cooling, game settings and testing conditions.
The TechRadar review describes a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with 1272×2800 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. A screen this large is better suited to reading, editing documents, watching video and playing games with more visible interface area. The trade-off is a larger handset than the compact vivo design. Because the review is secondary and may describe a market variant, verify the exact Indian panel specification before treating it as a guaranteed local feature.
Design, handling and display
When the X200 FE’s size matters
At 186g and 7.99mm, the X200 FE offers concrete compact-phone credentials. The 6.31-inch AMOLED runs at 120Hz and has a 2640×1216 resolution. Scrolling should look smoother than on a 60Hz panel, while the relatively small diagonal keeps the phone manageable. The India product page also describes peak brightness of up to 5000 nits. That is a manufacturer peak figure, not a promise of sustained brightness across the whole screen or in every mode.
Compact phones can be more comfortable for calls, messaging and navigation, but the smaller canvas leaves less room for split-screen work and on-screen controls. If you routinely type long messages with two thumbs, read spreadsheets or play games with several touch controls, try the physical size in a shop before buying.
When the 15R’s larger panel is preferable
The review’s reported 6.83-inch, 165Hz AMOLED specification points to a different experience: more space for video, games and productivity, plus potentially smoother animations where apps support high refresh rates. It also means more weight and reach than the vivo, although the exact OnePlus India dimensions and mass should be checked on the current official listing. Do not infer those figures from the review alone.

Performance, memory and storage
vivo X200 FE configuration
vivo India lists the Dimensity 9300+ made on a 4nm process. Buyers can choose 12GB of RAM with 256GB storage or 16GB with 512GB. The RAM is LPDDR5X and internal storage is UFS 3.1. There is no expandable ROM, so select the capacity with your expected photo, video and game library in mind. The 512GB model is the safer choice if you record a lot of 4K video or install large games, because a microSD card cannot add capacity later.

OnePlus 15R configuration
The OnePlus India page names Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, LPDDR5X Ultra and UFS 4.1. The TechRadar review reports 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage. UFS 4.1 is a newer storage specification than the vivo’s listed UFS 3.1, but specification generations do not translate directly into a measured difference in every app. Loading times, sustained thermals and background-memory behavior still require comparable testing.
Choose the OnePlus when the Snapdragon platform is a priority—for example, because a particular game, emulator or accessory ecosystem is known to favor that platform. Choose between the vivo memory tiers based on capacity rather than assuming 16GB automatically makes everyday use faster than 12GB.
Camera comparison: hardware capability versus image quality
vivo’s documented camera set
- Main: 50MP Sony IMX921 with optical image stabilisation.
- Ultrawide: 8MP.
- Telephoto: 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope with OIS and 3x optical zoom.
- Front: 50MP autofocus camera.
The dedicated periscope is the most meaningful hardware difference documented here. At 3x, it can frame a subject without the cropping associated with digital zoom from the main sensor. OIS helps reduce handshake, especially at longer focal lengths and in dim scenes. It does not guarantee sharper photos: processing, shutter speed, focus and lighting remain decisive.
What is documented for the OnePlus 15R
The TechRadar review lists a 50MP wide rear camera and an 8MP ultrawide, plus a 32MP front camera. A complete matching official India camera table was not captured, so this article does not claim that the OnePlus lacks a telephoto lens or that its image quality is inferior. Confirm the current India specification and look for sample photos from a reliable review before making a camera-led purchase.

Do not turn megapixel counts into a winner. Sensor size, lens aperture, stabilisation, autofocus behavior, HDR processing and night-mode consistency matter more than the number printed on a spec sheet. The defensible conclusion is narrower: the vivo explicitly gives you a 3x periscope camera, while the available OnePlus evidence documents a wide and ultrawide pair.

Battery capacity and charging
vivo’s two battery figures
vivo India lists a 6500mAh typical capacity and a 6340mAh rated capacity. Both numbers should be retained because they describe different measurement conventions; the typical figure is not the same as the rated minimum. The phone supports 90W FlashCharge and does not support wireless charging.
The India box listing includes a USB power adapter and Type-C cable, along with a case, eject tool, quick-start guide, warranty card and pre-applied protective film. Accessories can vary by market, so do not assume a package outside India contains the same items.
OnePlus’ reported battery
TechRadar reports a 7400mAh battery and 80W wired charging for the OnePlus 15R. That is a larger stated capacity than the vivo’s typical figure, but the two phones cannot be ranked for endurance from capacity alone. Screen size, refresh rate, processor tuning, network conditions and software all change runtime. Likewise, 90W versus 80W is not a measured charging-time comparison; charger protocols, starting percentage and thermal limits determine the result.

The India X200 FE specification lists Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15. It also lists IP68 and IP69 ratings, indicating protection claims under the relevant test conditions. An IP rating is not permission to expose a phone to salt water, hot showers or deliberate high-pressure spraying, and liquid damage policies can differ from the rating itself.
The available OnePlus material identifies the processor, memory technology and storage technology but does not provide a complete regional software-support or durability table. Check the current Indian product page for Android version, update policy, IP rating, SIM features and warranty terms before using those factors to choose between the phones. Do not assume that two phones launched around the same period receive identical update commitments.
SIMs, storage expansion and connectivity decisions
vivo’s India page lists dual nano-SIM support and no eSIM. It also confirms no expandable ROM. If you need an eSIM for travel or a work line, verify compatibility before purchase rather than relying on assumptions about the phone’s global version. The OnePlus India details supplied here do not establish its SIM or eSIM configuration, so check that model’s regional specification directly.

How to calculate a fair difference
- Choose the same storage tier, preferably 256GB versus 256GB or 512GB versus 512GB.
- Check both phones in India on the same day and record the exact seller and stock status.
- Separate the advertised cash price from instant bank discounts, coupons and exchange bonuses.
- Note whether a discount requires a particular card, an old phone or a minimum transaction value.
- Compare the final payable amount, delivery charges, warranty and included accessories.
- Only then subtract the lower final price from the higher one and label the result with the date.
This method prevents a launch price for one phone from being compared with a temporary marketplace price for the other.
Which one should I buy?
Choose the vivo X200 FE if these priorities match you
- You want a genuinely compact phone with a 6.31-inch display, 186g weight and 7.99mm body.
- You regularly shoot portraits, distant subjects or travel details and want a documented 3x optical periscope camera.
- You prefer the India-listed combination of Dimensity 9300+, 12GB/256GB or 16GB/512GB, IP68/IP69 and Funtouch OS 15.
- You value a high-capacity battery and 90W charging, while accepting that wireless charging is absent.
- You want the India package’s listed case and pre-applied protective film, subject to regional package confirmation.
Choose the OnePlus 15R if these priorities match you
- You specifically want the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform identified by OnePlus India.
- You prefer a larger display for games, video, reading and split-screen work.
- You value the advertised LPDDR5X Ultra and UFS 4.1 specifications.
- You are comfortable verifying the exact India camera, dimensions, software and protection details before paying.
- The matched configuration is available at a meaningfully lower final price than the comparable X200 FE.
Who should not decide from the spec sheet alone?
Anyone choosing primarily for camera quality, gaming stability or battery life should seek comparable independent tests. The available evidence establishes hardware specifications but does not provide a controlled camera shootout, benchmark set, charging-time test or endurance test. A product page can tell you what components are fitted; it cannot prove which phone will produce better photos or last longer under your workload.
Important checks before ordering
- Confirm that the listing is the Indian model and not an imported regional variant.
- Match RAM and storage before comparing prices.
- Read the seller’s warranty and return terms, especially on marketplace listings.
- Check charger inclusion; the vivo India specification lists an adapter, but packaging can vary elsewhere.
- Verify SIM, eSIM, 5G-band and NFC support for your operator and travel needs.
- For the OnePlus, confirm display refresh rate, camera arrangement, battery, charging and dimensions on the current India page.
- For the vivo, remember that 5000-nit peak brightness is an advertised peak measurement, not typical sustained output.
Verdict
The vivo X200 FE is the clearer choice for buyers who want a small, light phone with a dedicated 3x periscope camera and a fully documented India specification. Its 6500mAh typical battery, IP68/IP69 protection and 90W charging strengthen that practical package, although it lacks wireless charging and expandable storage.
The OnePlus 15R makes more sense for buyers who put the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform and a large, high-refresh-rate display ahead of compact handling. Its reported 7400mAh battery and 80W charging are attractive on paper, but the India-specific camera, dimensions, software and protection details should be confirmed before purchase.
There is no defensible universal winner or verified current price difference from the figures available. Compare identical storage tiers at the same Indian seller on the day you buy, then let your priority—compact telephoto photography or Snapdragon-led large-screen performance—make the decision.
