Live prices and stock can differ from launch pricing. At the time of the referenced vivo e-store listing, its 12GB + 256GB V70 Elite showed ₹71,999 against an MRP of ₹89,999 and was marked out of stock. That is a volatile listing snapshot, not a general market price or an assurance that the phone is available at that amount.
What does the Elite add for the extra cost?
A higher-tier listed processor
The V70 Elite is specified with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3; the V70 uses Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. This is the clearest hardware distinction between the two. vivo reported an AnTuTu 11.0.0 score of 1,889,405 for an 8GB + 256GB V70 Elite tested in its laboratory at 25°C ±1°C, and cautions that results vary with memory version and testing environment. It is a manufacturer lab result, not an independent comparison or proof of a particular real-world performance advantage over the V70.

The Elite is the only one of these India listings with a 12GB + 512GB configuration. The V70’s India spec page lists up to 12GB + 256GB, and neither official page lists expandable ROM. If you need more internal storage, this is a concrete reason to consider the Elite; otherwise, compare the matching 256GB configurations rather than treating the 512GB model as like-for-like.
The shared core display and battery specifications
Both models list a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 2750 × 1260 resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz. Both also list a 6500mAh typical battery and 90W charging. vivo gives the battery’s rated capacity as 6320mAh; typical and rated capacity are different measures, not competing battery claims.

vivo’s India launch materials position the V70 with a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto and a 50MP OIS main camera. Both list a 50MP front camera, with the Elite described as a ZEISS group selfie camera.
These specifications establish the listed camera hardware and positioning, not which phone takes better photos. Megapixel count alone does not establish image quality, and the available official details do not provide a basis for claiming a tested camera winner. vivo lists the V70 Elite at 187g in Authentic Black and 194g in Passion Red or Sand Beige, with dimensions varying slightly by color. Check the specific finish if weight or dimensions matter. The supplied V70 specification details do not establish a comparable model-specific weight here.
IP68 and IP69 have conditions
Both phones carry IP68 and IP69 ratings. vivo says its IP68 test used static fresh water up to 1.5m for up to 30 minutes under specified conditions; the IP69 rating was tested with specified hot-water spray conditions. The company cautions that resistance can diminish through daily use, says the products are not professional waterproof phones, and excludes liquid-ingress damage from warranty coverage. Update commitment
vivo says the V70 series receives four generations of OS updates and six years of security updates, with the period measured from launch in the user’s country. That is the stated series commitment; it does not by itself establish a specific end date.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the V70 as the lower-launch-price option if 256GB is sufficient and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 configuration meets your needs. Its 8GB + 256GB model had the lower announced entry price.
- Consider the V70 Elite if you want the listed Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor or need the 12GB + 512GB configuration. The relevant premium depends on whether you are comparing matching storage and RAM.
