Visible is the better fit if you want an unlimited-data plan with monthly billing and hotspot use that has a speed ceiling; Mint Mobile is a better fit if you can prepay for several months and choose a data tier that matches your usage. Neither is automatically cheaper or better: compare your full-term cost, renewal price, hotspot needs, and coverage at the places you use your phone.
Visible vs. Mint Mobile at a glance
| What to compare | Visible | Mint Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| Plan structure | Unlimited-service plans with different tiers and features; monthly and annual options are shown on its plan page. Visible plans | Data tiers, including Unlimited, with 3-, 6- and 12-month terms. Mint plans |
| Upfront payment | Depends on the selected plan and payment option; check the current checkout total. | Multi-month plans require payment for the chosen term upfront. The monthly equivalent is not a month-to-month bill. |
| Hotspot | Unlimited hotspot use, with plan-specific speed limits. The current feature table lists limits of 5, 10 and 15 Mbps across its three tiers. Visible plan features | Hotspot use draws from the plan’s data; Unlimited hotspot is capped at 20 GB under Mint’s terms. Mint plan terms |
| Network | Verizon 5G and 4G LTE, subject to availability and local conditions. | Mint’s carrier-published claim is 5G coverage to 98% and 4G LTE coverage to 99% of Americans; these population figures do not establish reception at a particular address. Mint deals |
| International features | Some higher tiers include Canada and Mexico roaming, international calling and texting, and smartwatch service; exact benefits vary by plan. Visible plan features | Check the selected plan and current terms for the international use you need. |

Mint’s advertised introductory offer
On its offer page reviewed October 3, 2026, Mint advertised eligible new customers a $15-per-month equivalent for a 3-, 6- or 12-month plan during the initial term. That required $45, $90 or $180 paid upfront, respectively, with taxes and fees extra. Eligibility, offer dates, and renewal prices can change, so check the current terms and checkout total. Visible’s payment options
Visible shows monthly and annual options and may display time-limited promotions. Compare the precise option you will buy and its total cost against Mint’s upfront term payment; do not assume the two carriers’ displayed monthly figures have the same commitment or include the same charges. How much data and hotspot do you need?
Choose Visible if hotspot flexibility matters more than hotspot speed
Visible describes its base plan as including unlimited data, talk, text, and hotspot on Verizon’s 5G and 4G LTE networks. The base hotspot is listed at up to 5 Mbps, while its feature table lists 10 and 15 Mbps limits for higher tiers. “Unlimited” here describes the amount of hotspot use, not an unlimited high-speed connection. Actual speeds and availability can vary with device, usage, location, and network availability; traffic may also be temporarily slowed. Visible plans Visible plan features

Choose Mint if you can estimate your data use
Mint offers capped data tiers as well as an Unlimited option, and asks customers to choose a 3-, 6- or 12-month term. On capped plans, hotspot use counts toward the plan’s data allowance. Mint’s terms limit hotspot on Unlimited to 20 GB. The terms also say high usage on Unlimited may be managed through prioritization and traffic management during congestion, so the plan name alone does not promise the same experience at every time and place. Visible identifies Verizon’s 5G and 4G LTE networks. Mint publishes coverage claims of 5G coverage to 98% of Americans and 4G LTE coverage to 99%; those are Mint’s own population figures, with no year stated on its live deals page. They are not an independent head-to-head test and cannot tell you how service performs inside your home, at work, or along your commute. Mint deals

Check each carrier’s coverage map for your home, workplace, and frequent travel routes before switching. Coverage maps and nationwide percentages are useful screening tools, not guarantees of reception or speed at a specific location. The reviewed carrier pages do not establish a universal winner for speed or reliability.

- Device compatibility: Confirm that your exact phone model is supported. Mint specifically advises customers to check compatibility; both the device and local network availability can affect service. Mint plans
- Travel: If you need Canada or Mexico roaming, international calling or texting, or a travel pass, check the exact Visible tier and its included allowances. Visible lists some of these benefits on higher tiers, but they vary by plan. Visible plan features
- Smartwatch: If you want cellular smartwatch service, verify whether it is included in the Visible tier you are considering. Visible lists smartwatch service among higher-tier benefits; do not assume it applies to every plan. Visible plan features
- Video quality: Check each carrier’s current disclosures for the particular plan. The carrier pages cited here do not establish a like-for-like video quality comparison.
- Porting your number: If practical, confirm coverage and device support before moving your primary number. A number transfer does not resolve a coverage mismatch.
