You can connect a Bluetooth speaker directly only if your exact ViewSonic projector supports Bluetooth Out. On a compatible model, put the speaker in pairing mode, then open Home > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Out on the projector, choose the speaker from the list, and confirm. A Bluetooth input or “Bluetooth Speaker” mode may do the opposite: play sound from another device through the projector’s own speaker.
First check whether your projector has Bluetooth Out
Bluetooth capability alone does not establish that a projector can send its audio to a speaker. ViewSonic says Bluetooth speaker output is available only on models equipped with Bluetooth Out. Find the projector’s exact model name on its product label, box, or system information screen, then check that model’s manual or specifications for Bluetooth audio output. A Bluetooth input feature by itself is not enough. ViewSonic’s external-speaker support guidance describes this model-dependent requirement.

Bluetooth Out is documented on models including the M10, M1 Pro, M2W, M1X, M2e, X11-4K, and X1000-4K. The M1+-2 specification also lists Bluetooth audio-out and audio-in. These are examples, not a complete compatibility list; verify your own model and consult its manual for the menu wording and behavior.

Connect a speaker using Bluetooth Out
- Put the speaker in pairing mode. Use the speaker’s instructions to make it discoverable to nearby devices.
- Open the projector’s Bluetooth output menu. On the documented models, the path is Home > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Out.
- Select the speaker. Wait for the projector’s nearby-device list, choose the speaker, and press OK or confirm the pairing prompt.
- Play audio to check the connection. If the speaker does not appear, confirm it is still discoverable and check both devices’ manuals.
ViewSonic manuals document this sequence for models such as the M10, M1 Pro, M2W, M1X, and M2e. Some manuals say a paired device may reconnect automatically when both devices are powered on; check your model’s manual rather than assuming that behavior applies to every projector.

Choose the right Bluetooth mode
Some ViewSonic projectors offer modes with similar names but opposite purposes. Bluetooth Out sends projector audio to external headphones or a speaker. A mode labeled Bluetooth Speaker or Bluetooth Pairing may instead let another device send audio to the projector’s built-in speaker. For projector-to-speaker playback, select Bluetooth Out when your model offers it. The M10 manual and X1000-4K manual distinguish these functions.
If Bluetooth Out is unavailable, use an audio output
If the menu is absent, check your exact model manual before concluding that the projector has a fault. The model may not support Bluetooth audio output. ViewSonic identifies 3.5 mm audio out and S/PDIF as wired options on projectors fitted with those ports. Connect the projector to a speaker with a matching input; if the connectors differ, a suitable conversion device may be needed. A Bluetooth transmitter is another possible route only when the projector has a compatible audio output. For example, a 3.5 mm transmitter can take audio from a 3.5 mm audio-out jack and send it wirelessly to a Bluetooth speaker. This is a conditional workaround, not a ViewSonic compatibility guarantee: check the projector’s output, the transmitter’s input, and the speaker’s pairing requirements before choosing one. Troubleshoot a missing speaker or connection
- No Bluetooth Out option: Confirm the exact projector model and check its manual for Bluetooth audio output. A Bluetooth input or speaker mode is not equivalent.
- The speaker does not appear: Make sure it is in discoverable pairing mode, then let the projector search for nearby devices. Consult both manuals; universal reset steps or compatibility with every Bluetooth speaker are not established.
- The projector plays through its own speaker: Check that you selected Bluetooth Out rather than a mode that receives audio from another device.
- Sound timing matters: ViewSonic’s cited documentation gives no general Bluetooth latency figure or cross-model lip-sync guarantee. If synchronization is important, consult the device documentation and consider a wired output supported by both devices.
