Vicharak Axon Lite: What Its Swappable Interface Modules Actually Offer

The Vicharak Axon Lite combines an RK3576 SBC with a vendor-rated 6 TOPS NPU, but buyers should verify which optional modules are actually available and documented.

Vicharak’s Axon Lite is an RK3576 single-board computer (SBC) with an integrated NPU rated by the manufacturer at up to 6 TOPS. Its modular design is appealing, but the four named categories—Voice Processing, Smart Sensing, AI Data Hub and AI Vision—are reported by It’s FOSS, not confirmed as a fully specified, currently purchasable module lineup in Vicharak’s product material. Before buying for a particular project, verify which expansion board is available and exactly what it connects.

What does “swap interface modules” mean on the Axon Lite?

The Axon Lite is designed around expansion through board-to-board connections, rather than relying only on the connectors built into the SBC. Vicharak’s overview documents PCIe and SATA through board-to-board connectors, alongside camera and display interfaces. That establishes expansion capability, but not that every proposed function comes as a finished, interchangeable module.

It’s FOSS reported on September 25, 2026, that Vicharak presented four module categories: Voice Processing, Smart Sensing, AI Data Hub and AI Vision. The official store material available for this article instead shows examples of optional port or expansion variants, including USB and Ethernet combinations, with some marked “coming soon.” Those are not clearly the same products as the four categories, so treat the category names as reported concepts rather than a confirmed shopping list. Check Vicharak’s live listing for the specific module, connectors, supported software and availability before planning around one.

For a buyer, the useful question is not simply whether the board is modular. It is whether the particular module needed for a project is documented, available in the buyer’s region, and supported by the required drivers and software. Neither a TOPS rating nor an “AI” module label establishes application performance.

Core specifications and configuration

Vicharak’s store identifies the Axon Lite as an RK3576-based SBC and rates its integrated NPU at up to 6 TOPS. TOPS is a vendor-specified measure of peak compute capability; it is not a benchmark of end-to-end performance for a particular vision, speech or sensing workload.

Configuration details depend on the listing and variant. The manufacturer’s getting-started guide describes a 4GB RAM / 32GB eMMC board with Debian 13 (Trixie) preinstalled. The store lists 4GB and 8GB LPDDR5 configurations, while its selector has shown additional options as coming soon. Confirm the exact memory, storage and included software for the configuration you are ordering. Vicharak’s overview and store/setup pages conflict on CPU-core descriptions, so a core-count or clock breakdown should not be treated as settled from those pages.

Display outputs

Vicharak documents micro-HDMI, USB-C DisplayPort and MIPI DSI display connections, and says the board can drive up to three independent displays. The documentation lists these path-specific limits:

Camera, GPIO and board-level I/O

Vicharak’s overview lists one 4-lane MIPI CSI interface and four 2-lane MIPI CSI interfaces, plus a 4-lane MIPI DSI interface. It also documents PCIe and SATA via board-to-board connectors. Connector access and supported combinations can depend on board revision and expansion hardware, so check the current board documentation before treating those interfaces as directly accessible.

The board has a 40-pin GPIO header with functions including UART and I2C. A 40-pin header does not by itself establish universal Raspberry Pi HAT compatibility: check pin mapping, electrical requirements, drivers and physical clearance for each accessory.

Power and what you need to get started

Vicharak’s getting-started guide says the compatible power source, display cable, USB keyboard and mouse are not included in the box. You do not need to buy every item if you already have compatible equipment or plan to use the board headlessly. For a first display-based setup, account for a monitor and a suitable micro-HDMI cable or adapter; USB-C DisplayPort is another documented display route.

The manufacturer’s power guide specifies a minimum 5W input (12V at 0.42A), recommends 10W (12V at 0.83A), and says a full peripheral load—including cameras, displays, USB, HDMI and PCIe—may require 15–25W, up to 12V at 2.1A. It describes a dedicated USB-C PD power input and PoE support. Choose a supply that matches the required output and has enough capacity for the attached devices; the minimum figure is not a prudent target for a heavily expanded system.

Price, availability and buying checks

The Vicharak storefront index observed for this article displayed Axon Lite variant prices of ₹15,930–₹18,299. Those are storefront prices in Indian rupees, not a universal price or a guarantee of current stock. The US store product page showed configurable 4GB and 8GB choices with deposit/pricing controls, while other memory or storage selections appeared as coming soon. Verify the live regional listing for the configuration, final price, preorder or stock status, shipping estimate, duties and delivery area before ordering. The January 2027 shipment timing reported by It’s FOSS is not established as current by the official listing evidence here.

Before purchase, check these points against the exact listing:

  • Which RAM and storage configuration is being sold, and whether Debian 13 is preinstalled on that variant.
  • Whether the expansion module required for the project is a shipping product, rather than a coming-soon option or reported category.
  • Whether the module exposes the needed physical connector and has documented software support.
  • Whether the selected power supply is suitable for the voltage and expected peripheral load.
  • Whether the display or camera connection needed is exposed on the board revision and configuration being sold.

Who should consider the Axon Lite?

The board is worth considering for an embedded-computing project that benefits from the RK3576 platform, a vendor-rated NPU, multiple documented display paths or board-level camera and expansion connections. Its modular premise is most compelling when the needed module is confirmed and documented. If a project depends on voice, vision or sensing, first establish the actual module’s availability and interface details; the category names alone do not establish a ready-to-deploy solution.

For a comparison with another SBC, focus on the complete configuration and ecosystem rather than a peak TOPS figure alone: included RAM and storage, module availability, I/O exposure, software documentation, power needs and regional purchase terms all affect whether the board fits the project.
