Valheim 1.0 Achievement Guide: How to Unlock All 55

Valheim 1.0 has 55 achievements. They cover eight bosses, map-edge exploration, sailing, creature and item collections, construction milestones, survival, food, fishing, deaths, and both solo and cooperative play. For the least ambiguous results, use a clean character and world created after installing version 1.0, keep difficulty changes deliberate, and avoid devcommands or spawned items until the achievement run is complete.

What changed with Valheim 1.0 achievements

Iron Gate says achievement tracking begins when the 1.0 version is downloaded. Statistics from earlier versions do not automatically satisfy every requirement: if you killed Eikthyr before downloading 1.0, you must kill Eikthyr again after the download for that achievement to count. The 1.0 launch also added the Deep North and the achievement system. Iron Gate later listed achievement fixes in patch 1.0.16, including fixes for Child of Odin and Comfort is King.

The current Valheim.tools database records 55 achievements in five groups: eight Bosses, five Exploration, two Combat, nine Building and crafting, and 31 General. Some requirements are single events; others are cumulative counters or complete collections. The database lists 105 creature types for both hunting achievements, 164 weapons, 473 tracked craftable items, 389 build pieces, 70 trophies, 81 dishes, and 96 edible items.

Set up a reliable achievement save

• Install 1.0 first. Start important kills and counters only after the game has downloaded 1.0. Repeat any pre-1.0 boss kills.
• Keep a clean character available. Make a separate character and world for completion if you use creative testing elsewhere.
• Understand cheat lockouts. Most devcommands, spawned items, and some modifiers, including hammer-mode, can block achievements while active. Iron Gate says a temporarily cheated character can become eligible again only after all cheated items are discarded from its inventory; the safest approach is to avoid cheats on the completion character entirely.
• Choose difficulty before major milestones. Normal, Hard, and Hard-or-above requirements are distinct, so record which bosses and creatures were defeated at each setting.
• Back up your checklist. Collections such as fish, trophies, dishes, foods, creatures, craftable items, and build pieces are easy to lose track of when spread across several worlds.

Boss achievements (8)

These are the main progression spine. Defeat the bosses in the order your biome access allows, then repeat the necessary fights at the specified difficulty for the tougher Viking achievements.

Efficient route: treat each boss as both a boss achievement and evidence for the general achievements. Keep a record of the world, difficulty, and participants for every kill. That record prevents an accidental multiplayer kill from being used when you still need the solo achievement, and it shows which bosses must be repeated on Hard.

Exploration achievements (5)

How to plan the map-edge run

1. Use one dependable boat and a stocked base so a death does not end the expedition.
2. For The Explorer, visit the far north, south, east, and west edges with the map available.
3. For The Pathfinder, repeat the four-edge objective with the map disabled. Keep a written heading and landmark log because the map cannot serve as your record.
4. Accumulate ordinary sailing distance while moving between bases and biomes. Spend enough time actively steering to build the helm-specific 65,973-unit total for The Captain.
5. Attempt The Legends Are True separately when you are prepared to lose the boat and character. It requires death by sailing over the world’s edge, not merely reaching an edge.

The two distance achievements are separate counters: the 131,946-unit total can include sailing generally, while the 65,973-unit requirement is specifically while manning the helm.

Combat achievements (2)

Do not assume that killing one creature variant covers every entry. Use a 105-line checklist, mark each kill only after the game registers it, and note the difficulty for The Master Hunter. A practical approach is to clear creatures as you enter each biome, then reserve a cleanup expedition for types that spawn rarely or only under particular conditions. The Hard run can double as progress toward The Toughest Viking, but only if the relevant bosses are also defeated on Hard.

Building and crafting achievements (9)

Organize construction and crafting work

• Separate “all” from “total.” The Carpenter requires every one of the 389 tracked build pieces; The Builder requires 500 placed pieces, so repeating a common piece can satisfy the latter but not the former.
• Use a catalog. Record each of the 164 weapons and 473 tracked items as you craft them. Include items made in different stations and from late-game materials.
• Build test structures deliberately. Complete the tracked house conditions before dismantling it, then construct the eight-condition village for The Architect. Keep structural experiments in a dedicated area so you can verify height milestones without damaging your main base.
• Plan height attempts. Mighty Halls and Top of the World use different thresholds: maximum building height 49 versus world height 432. Treat them as separate construction targets.
• Reserve Dyrnwyn for a clean craft. The Chosen One is an assembly achievement, so gather the required components and complete the assembly on the eligible character.

General achievements (31)

How to handle the special general achievements

Worlds, deaths, and survival

I Have Arrived! counts worlds spawned into, so create or enter worlds deliberately and keep a simple tenth-world tally. The First of Many is a one-time death-and-continue milestone. The death collection is broader: Obliterated requires an incinerator, Accidents Happen requires a tree kill, That Can’t Be an Accident requires all 10 tracked tree-death conditions, and Are You Alright? requires all 16 tracked death methods. Keep these experiments on a disposable, eligible character and record the exact death already completed.

For The Survivor, protect a character for 30 consecutive days. Avoid risky travel during the final stretch and keep food, shelter, and a recovery plan ready. Comfort is King requires comfort level 20; build and furnish a dedicated high-comfort area, then verify the level before leaving it. Iron Gate specifically fixed a bug affecting this achievement in patch 1.0.16.

Combat style and multiplayer

The Pugilist is a complete fists-only boss set, while The Viking is the complete eight-boss set on any difficulty. The fists requirement is stricter than merely finishing a boss with a fist attack: keep the entire boss run unambiguous by avoiding weapon damage.

Stronger Together needs a boss kill with a friend. Lone Wolf needs a boss killed entirely solo. Schedule these as separate fights, check the participant list before the fight begins, and do not let a remote helper deal damage during the solo attempt.

Resource counters

Several achievements are best completed passively while building a base:

• Cut trees until the counter reaches 500 for The Lumberjack.
• Harvest 500 crops for The Farmer.
• Pick 250 berries and 250 mushrooms for The Forager.
• Harvest 500 honey for The Beekeeper.
• Eat 500 food items for No Adventuring On an Empty Stomach.
• Cook 100 dishes for The Cook.

These are totals, not complete catalogs. Keep production running while you work on the collection achievements so the same farms and kitchens advance several counters without confusing a cumulative target with an “every item” target.

Collections: trophies, fish, dishes, and foods

The Trophy Collector requires all 70 trophies. Store each trophy in labeled chests as soon as you obtain it and mark duplicates separately. The Fisherman requires all 12 tracked fish, while A Catch Worthy of Njord is a separate four-star-fish catch; obtaining every ordinary fish does not automatically provide the four-star specimen.

The Master Chef requires all 81 tracked dishes. The Gourmet requires eating all 96 tracked edible items. Cooking every dish is not the same as eating every food: maintain two lists and consume one of each edible item after you have secured a spare for future recipes. This distinction also matters for Kings and Queens of Valheim, which depends on the Master Chef achievement.

A practical completion route

1. Start a post-1.0 character. Choose a world you can revisit and do not enable devcommands, spawn items, or hammer-mode on this character.
2. Clear the eight bosses once. This earns the individual boss achievements and can establish The Viking. Keep one boss available for the co-op and solo milestones if you prefer controlled attempts.
3. Record difficulty-specific kills. Complete all bosses on Normal or higher for The Tough Viking, then all eight on Hard for The Toughest Viking. Use the same run to work toward The Master Hunter by killing the 105 creature types on Hard or above.
4. Open the map and sailing tracks. Visit all four edges for The Explorer, then repeat with the map disabled for The Pathfinder. Accumulate the general and helm sailing totals while moving between regions.
5. Finish biome-by-biome collections. Log every creature, trophy, fish, dish, food, weapon, tracked craftable item, and build piece instead of relying on memory.
6. Build the achievement structures. Complete the house, village, height, 389-piece catalog, and 500-piece total as separate checklist items.
7. Run the controlled experiments. Complete tree deaths, all tracked deaths, incinerator death, sea-creature awakening, buried treasures, comfort 20, 30 consecutive days, and the tenth-world spawn.
8. Schedule multiplayer edge cases. Kill one boss with a friend and another entirely solo, with no ambiguity about who participated.
9. Audit dependencies. The six achievements named by Kings and Queens of Valheim and the four named by Child of Odin must already be complete before those meta-achievements can unlock. Once every other achievement is recorded, The Most Worthy should be the final unlock.

Troubleshooting missing unlocks

An old boss kill did not count

Repeat the kill after downloading 1.0. Iron Gate’s tracking rule starts at the 1.0 download, so an earlier Eikthyr victory is specifically not sufficient.

The character used cheats

Stop using devcommands, spawned items, and achievement-blocking modifiers. Iron Gate says a temporarily cheated character is locked out while in that state and may become eligible again after all cheated items are thrown out of the inventory. Because the exact history of a mixed save can be difficult to audit, a clean character is the safer recovery path.

A meta-achievement is missing

Check the named prerequisites rather than only the visible headline. Kings and Queens of Valheim requires Viking, Hunter, Artisan, Master Chef, Carpenter, and Explorer. Child of Odin requires Toughest Viking, Master Hunter, Survivor, and Pathfinder. Iron Gate reported a fix for Child of Odin in patch 1.0.16; make sure the game is updated before repeating the final prerequisite.

Comfort is King did not trigger

Reach level 20 again in a dedicated furnished area after updating. Comfort-related unlock failures were also addressed in patch 1.0.16, so an unpatched client can produce a misleading result.

What 100% completion means

In this achievement set, 100% means all 55 achievements, ending with The Most Worthy. That includes the eight individual bosses, the five exploration goals, the two 105-creature combat catalogs, every construction and crafting milestone, all 31 general achievements, and the dependency chains for Kings and Queens of Valheim and Child of Odin. The cleanest route is a post-1.0, cheat-free character with written logs for difficulty, map visibility, multiplayer participation, collections, and cumulative counters.
