Yes. Apple AirPods connect to Samsung Galaxy phones through the phone’s standard Bluetooth settings. They can play audio and act as a microphone for calls, but they do not become a full Apple-ecosystem accessory on Android: Siri is unavailable, and other features may depend on the specific AirPods model and Samsung software.
The practical choice is straightforward. Use AirPods with a Galaxy if you already own them or prefer their hardware. Choose Galaxy Buds when Samsung integration and an Android-oriented setup matter more than keeping the AirPods design.

What compatibility actually means
AirPods are Bluetooth earbuds, so a Samsung Galaxy phone can connect to them using the same wireless-audio profile used by many other headphones. The connection does not require an Apple device, an Apple account, or a special Samsung accessory app.
Once paired, the Galaxy can send media audio to the AirPods and use their microphones for phone calls. Apple describes this arrangement as using AirPods “as a Bluetooth headset with a non-Apple device.” That wording is important: the basic headset connection is supported, while Apple-only conveniences are not guaranteed on Android.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Compatibility is therefore best understood in two layers:
- Bluetooth headset functions: listening to media and talking on calls generally work.
- Ecosystem functions: Siri and other Apple-specific behavior are unavailable or may be unsupported, depending on the model and phone software.
Google’s Android guidance says that “Some functionalities of these devices may not be supported on your Android device.” Samsung Galaxy models run Android, so you should treat any feature beyond ordinary audio and microphone use as model-specific rather than assumed.
How to pair AirPods with a Samsung Galaxy
Pairing is done entirely from the Galaxy’s Bluetooth controls. Keep the earbuds in their charging case during setup and make sure the case has enough charge to enter pairing mode.
- Charge the case. Put both earbuds in the case and charge it if the status light does not respond or the earbuds have been stored for a long time.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the Galaxy. You can usually reach this through Settings > Connections > Bluetooth. Turn Bluetooth on.
- Start a new pairing search. Tap Pair new device, or the equivalent option shown by your Galaxy software.
- Put the AirPods in pairing mode. Leave the earbuds in the open case and use the procedure for your model.
- Select the AirPods. When the AirPods name appears under available devices, tap it and accept the pairing request if the phone displays one.
AirPods 1, AirPods 2, AirPods 3, and AirPods Pro 1 or 2
Open the case with the earbuds inside. Press and hold the setup button on the back for about five seconds. Release it when the status light flashes white. The flashing light indicates that the case is advertising the earbuds for Bluetooth pairing.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
AirPods 4, AirPods 5, and AirPods Pro 3
Apple’s pairing instructions for these models use a separate front double-tap procedure rather than the rear-button sequence used by earlier cases. Open the case, keep the earbuds inside, and double-tap the front of the case as directed by Apple’s current instructions until the status light indicates pairing mode.
AirPods Max
AirPods Max use their listening-mode button to enter pairing mode. With the headphones powered and nearby, press and hold that button until the status indicator flashes white, then choose them from the Galaxy’s available-device list.
Names and menu wording can vary slightly by Galaxy model and One UI version. The essential sequence remains the same: Bluetooth on, new-device search active, AirPods in pairing mode, then select the earbuds or headphones.
If the AirPods do not appear
A missing AirPods entry usually means the case is not advertising the connection, the earbuds are still connected to another nearby device, or the Galaxy’s scan needs to be refreshed. Check these items in order:

- Travel Must-Have for People On the Go: A must-have travel accessory for flights, flying, airports, air travel, airplanes, planes, international trips, cruises, and long travel days. Key gadget for your airport haul, travel accessories and must-haves.
- Confirm the charging case has power.
- Keep both earbuds inside the case and leave the lid open.
- Repeat the model-specific pairing action until the light flashes white or the model’s pairing indicator appears.
- On the Galaxy, remain on the Available devices screen and refresh the list.
- Move the AirPods close to the phone and temporarily turn off Bluetooth on a nearby device that may reconnect to them.
If the AirPods were previously paired with the Galaxy but no longer connect, select their entry in the Galaxy Bluetooth list and try Unpair or Forget, then repeat the full pairing process. This creates a new Bluetooth relationship instead of reusing a corrupted or incomplete one.
What works after pairing
| Function | Expected behavior on a Galaxy phone | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Music, video, and other media audio | Supported as ordinary Bluetooth audio | Exact behavior can vary by AirPods model and Galaxy software. |
| Microphone for phone calls | Supported as a Bluetooth headset | The phone must route call audio to the AirPods. |
| Taking part in a conversation | Supported; you can listen and talk | Apple explicitly states this for non-Apple devices. |
| Siri | Not available | Apple says Siri cannot be used with AirPods on a non-Apple device. |
| Apple ecosystem conveniences | Not guaranteed | Google warns that some device functionality may not be supported on Android. |
For calls, check the Bluetooth device controls on the Galaxy if the sound continues through the phone. The AirPods need to be selected as the call-audio device, and the phone must have call audio enabled for that Bluetooth connection.
What you should not expect from AirPods on Galaxy
No Siri
Apple’s direct limitation is unambiguous: “You can’t use Siri, but you can listen and talk.” A Galaxy phone uses Google’s Android software rather than Apple’s voice-assistant integration, so holding or tapping an AirPod cannot provide the normal Siri experience.

AirPods models do not all expose the same controls, sensors, or listening modes. Even when a particular AirPods feature exists in the hardware, Android support is not automatically established. Google’s guidance is to assume that some functionality may not be supported unless the specific AirPods model and Samsung software document it.

That qualification also applies after a successful pairing. A connection that reliably handles music and calls does not prove that every gesture, automatic behavior, or Apple-device control will work on the Galaxy.
No single Android feature list applies to every Galaxy
“Samsung Galaxy” covers many phones and software versions. Bluetooth menus, available toggles, and call-routing behavior can differ between models. The AirPods generation matters as well, particularly because the pairing procedure differs between older cases, newer cases, and AirPods Max.

Both product families can provide wireless audio because both use Bluetooth connections. The meaningful difference is integration: AirPods are designed around Apple devices, while Galaxy Buds are designed to work within Samsung’s hardware and software environment.

| Decision factor | AirPods with a Galaxy | Galaxy Buds with a Galaxy |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Bluetooth compatibility | Works for ordinary audio and microphone functions after manual pairing. | Works as Bluetooth headphones; Samsung says its earbuds can be used like other Bluetooth headphones with unsupported devices. |
| Ecosystem orientation | Apple-oriented; Siri is unavailable on Android and other functions may not be supported. | Samsung/Galaxy-oriented when the relevant Galaxy Wearable support is available. |
| Setup | Open Galaxy Bluetooth settings and pair manually. | Bluetooth pairing is available, with a more integrated control path on supported Galaxy phones. |
| Feature certainty | Basic audio is the dependable baseline; advanced behavior varies by model and software. | Exact controls still vary by Buds model and phone, but supported Galaxy combinations can expose Samsung-specific settings. |
| Best reason to choose it | You already own AirPods or prefer their fit and hardware. | You want Samsung-oriented controls and a Galaxy-focused setup. |
Samsung notes that Galaxy Wearable support provides the integrated path on compatible Galaxy phones. If the app or a particular phone does not support a Buds model, the earbuds can still be used as ordinary Bluetooth headphones. Samsung also warns that disabling Call audio or Media audio prevents output through the earbuds and can cause them to disconnect.

Fixing sound, call, and disconnect problems
The AirPods show as connected but produce no sound
Open the Galaxy’s Bluetooth device details for the AirPods and verify that Media audio is enabled. For phone calls, also verify Call audio. If either switch is off, the Galaxy may show a connection while sending no corresponding audio stream to the earbuds.
Check the phone’s current media-output selector as well. Android can remain set to the handset speaker even though the Bluetooth connection is active. Select the AirPods as the output, then start playback again.
Music works but calls use the phone
Return to the AirPods entry in Bluetooth settings and enable Call audio. During a call, use the call-screen audio button to choose the AirPods. If the option is still missing, disconnect and pair again, then test with a normal phone call rather than a third-party calling app.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThe connection drops
- Charge the case and both earbuds.
- Keep the phone and AirPods nearby while testing.
- Turn off Bluetooth on another nearby device that may be reclaiming the AirPods.
- Forget the AirPods on the Galaxy and perform a fresh pairing.
- Check whether the drop occurs only in one app or during both media playback and calls; an app-specific problem needs a different fix than a Bluetooth connection problem.
Do not infer a general battery-life, latency, codec, or call-quality advantage from the connection alone. No authoritative comparative figures establish those outcomes for AirPods versus Galaxy Buds on Galaxy phones, and results can vary by the exact models and software versions involved.
Which option should you use?
Use AirPods with your Galaxy when
- You already own the AirPods and need reliable music and call audio.
- You prefer their physical design or fit.
- You accept manual Bluetooth pairing and the loss of Siri.
Consider Galaxy Buds when
- You want a setup designed around Samsung phones.
- You value access to Galaxy Wearable controls where your phone and Buds model support them.
- You would rather use an earbud family whose software path is aligned with Android and Galaxy devices.
Neither choice changes the basic Bluetooth principle: a Galaxy phone can connect to compatible wireless earbuds. The decision is about how much ecosystem integration you need after the connection is made.
