If a Urlbox full-page screenshot stops before the bottom of a page, first request full_page=true and use the default stitch mode. Then check capture limits, scroll-triggered loading, page readiness, infinite-scroll behavior, and layout or output constraints. Urlbox’s Screenshots guide and Render Options reference document the controls involved.
1. Confirm full-page mode and start with stitch
Set full_page=true. Urlbox’s default full-page mode is stitch: it scrolls through the page, captures sections, and joins them into one image. The process can trigger lazy-loaded content and animations, and it freezes fixed or sticky elements to avoid repeating them in every section.
The alternative, native, uses browser-native full-page capture and is faster, but Urlbox cautions that it may not work well on every site. If completeness is the problem, diagnose with the default stitch mode before trying native.

2. Check whether a capture limit is truncating the result
Review the request for limits that can make a full-page capture end early:
max_sectionslimits how many sections a stitched capture can contain.max_heightlimits capture height.max_section_heightsets the per-section ceiling.- When
heightis supplied withfull_page, it sets the browser viewport height and caps individual screenshot sections at that height, according to the Urlbox guide.
For diagnosis, remove restrictive values or raise them enough to cover the page, while retaining a sensible bound for unusually long pages. Check the actual request parameters rather than assuming a default: a limit inherited from application configuration can still apply.

3. Let content triggered by scrolling load
Urlbox scrolls to the bottom before capture by default. This initial pass helps trigger lazy-loaded elements and determine the page’s final scrollable height. If the request includes skip_scroll=true, that pass is bypassed; leave it off while investigating missing below-the-fold content.
Tune scroll steps and pauses
scroll_increment controls the size of each scroll step, and scroll_delay controls the pause between sections. Smaller increments and longer delays can help pages that reveal content only when a section enters view or that need time to animate. They can also increase render time; there is no universal best value because sites implement loading differently.

Change one setting at a time. If the missing content appears only after making steps smaller or pauses longer, the cause is likely scroll-triggered loading rather than the full-page flag.
4. Distinguish late page readiness from scroll-triggered loading
If content is missing even when scrolling is enabled, the page may not have finished loading the relevant content before capture. Urlbox’s Render Options include controls for both general readiness and specific page states:

wait_untilselects a readiness event or network-quiet condition.wait_forwaits for a CSS selector to appear.wait_to_leavecan wait for a loading indicator to disappear.wait_timeoutsets the wait duration.
When possible, wait for a selector that represents the content you need, rather than relying only on an arbitrary delay. This is a practical diagnostic choice, not a guarantee that every page’s scripts or third-party requests are complete. Urlbox documents that a missing wait_for element does not necessarily fail the screenshot request, so verify the result when the selector is absent.
5. Inspect section joins and sticky elements
Set show_seams=true to make the captured sections visible for diagnosis. The seams can help locate where a gap, repeated strip, or bad join begins. Urlbox’s stitch logic heuristically detects fixed elements so sticky headers or footers are captured once. If you suspect this handling is involved, try freeze_fixed=false and compare the output; disabling it may change how fixed UI appears across sections.

Infinite-scroll pages can appear clipped because Urlbox detects infinite scrolling and limits capture to three sections by default to avoid continuing indefinitely. Set allow_infinite=true only when you want more content loaded by continued scrolling. Keep a reasonable max_sections limit so an effectively endless feed cannot produce an unexpectedly large capture or render.

7. Rule out layout, width, and image-format constraints
Full-height sections and backgrounds
Pages using 100vh or 100%-height backgrounds can produce sections that look stretched or incomplete. Urlbox’s detect_full_height option controls detection intended to avoid stretched sections by limiting section and viewport height. If the page’s design relies on full-height content, inspect the output with that behavior in mind.
Horizontal scrolling
If the content extends sideways rather than downward, set full_width=true. A tall capture can still omit content outside the captured width.

Image dimensions and format
The Urlbox guide lists dimension limits for JPEG and WebP and recommends PNG for full-page captures when size limits are a concern. If the capture has the expected vertical content but is constrained or fails at large dimensions, try PNG and review the documented format-specific limits.
A practical troubleshooting order
- Set
full_page=trueand use the defaultstitchmode. - Remove or raise
max_sections,max_height,max_section_height, and any restrictiveheight. - Ensure
skip_scrollis not enabled; test smallerscroll_incrementand longerscroll_delay. - Wait for the page’s relevant state using
wait_until,wait_for, orwait_to_leave, and set an appropriatewait_timeout. - Use
show_seams=trueto inspect joins; testfreeze_fixed=falseif fixed UI appears to be involved. - For infinite feeds, decide whether to allow continued scrolling and bound it with
max_sections. - Check
detect_full_height,full_width, and the output format if the issue resembles stretching, sideways clipping, or a dimension constraint.
