To stream recorded coaching classes continuously on YouTube, send the recordings to a YouTube live event through an encoder. You can run an encoder on a computer, use dedicated hardware, or host the playback in the cloud. First enable live streaming on your channel, schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, enter its stream URL and key in the encoder, and check the preview before going live. For dependable replays, plan sessions shorter than 12 hours: YouTube says a longer stream may not be captured as an archive.

What to prepare before the first broadcast
Enable live streaming early
Verify the YouTube channel and confirm it has no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. YouTube sets a minimum age of 16 for livestreaming.

Organize the recordings and check rights
Arrange the class videos in their intended playback order, either as a playlist or a file sequence in the encoder workflow. Play each file in advance and check that the lesson is complete and its audio is intelligible. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for the class recording and all included material, including music, slides, and third-party clips.
Choose the operating setup
For computer-based streaming, use an encoder workflow that can play your recorded files in order and keep running unattended only if you can reliably maintain the computer, power, playback, and network. Dedicated hardware is optional, not a YouTube requirement for basic encoding. YouTube lists third-party encoders, but being listed does not mean a product is made or endorsed by YouTube.

Set up and start a YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create a live stream or schedule one. Set the title, description, privacy, and other event settings you need.
- Copy the stream URL and key. Enter them in the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or include it in public instructions. Reuse stream settings where appropriate.
- Load the class material. Select the prepared file or ordered playlist in the encoder. Confirm that the playback order and any looping behavior are set as intended.
- Check bandwidth and connection. Keep the encoder’s bitrate within the available upload capacity. YouTube recommends about 20% bandwidth headroom and monitoring stream quality; use a reliable connection and avoid saturating it with other uploads.
- Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s incoming preview. Confirm the picture and audio are correct before starting the broadcast in the Live Control Room. Monitor stream health while it is live.
- Check local recording if you rely on one. Keep a local backup where possible and verify that it is actually being written, rather than assuming the live feed is also being saved locally.
Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive boundary
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived and cautions that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. If class replays matter, automate or supervise a controlled stop and restart before the 12-hour boundary, and maintain a local recording. Separate events do not guarantee a seamless rollover; plan for an interruption and check each archive after the session.
Protect the channel from rights and monetization problems
Get permission for everything in the feed
YouTube’s live-stream terms make the provider responsible for having the rights needed to use live content, including music rights, and for following laws that apply to the content and territory. YouTube Help says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A stream containing such material may show a placeholder, be temporarily interrupted, or be terminated if the issue remains. Even with a license, you may need the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Obtain permission before replaying a course or included material.

Do not assume repeated lessons qualify for monetization
YouTube’s channel monetization policy, updated July 15, 2025, calls its repetitious-content policy “inauthentic content” and says repetitive or mass-produced material is ineligible under that policy. It does not say every replayed class is automatically ineligible: channel review depends on the substance and presentation. The material should provide materially varied creative, educational, or other value. For eligible monetized channels, YouTube lists ads, Super Chat, and memberships as possible live-stream revenue methods, but ads are not guaranteed in every slot. Continuous playback is not a promise of earnings.

A computer-based route may use equipment you already own, but requires reliable local power, internet, and supervision or automation. Hardware adds a purchase and compatibility considerations. Compare cloud providers on their current terms and costs; a YouTube encoder listing alone does not establish suitability, availability, or endorsement.

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Check that the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and there is no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and key for the event, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is sending. Keep the key private.
- Preview or playback has buffering or unstable quality: Check stream health, reduce demands on the connection if needed, and preserve about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom as YouTube recommends.
- There is no sound or the wrong class plays: Test each recording and the playlist order before broadcast; check the encoder’s selected media and audio output in the preview.
- The stream stops or is interrupted after a rights match: Review the material for third-party content and confirm that you have the necessary rights. If licensed, ask the rights owner whether your channel needs to be added to its Content ID allowlist.
- No archive appears after a long broadcast: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Keep sessions under that boundary when archives matter, and check the local backup.
