If the URLbox extension stays on “loading” while you try to capture a website, the available official guidance does not identify a confirmed URLbox-specific cause. Work through the checks below to find out whether the symptom is limited to one site, tied to Chrome or another extension, or requires help from Urlbox.
First, find out whether it is one site or every site
Try the extension on a different website. If it hangs only on one page, the problem may be specific to that page or its loading behavior; if it happens on several sites, investigate Chrome and the extension more broadly. This is a diagnostic distinction, not proof of a particular cause. Google recommends checking whether a loading problem affects one site or multiple sites in its Chrome loading-error guidance.

Try these checks in order
- Check the address and reload. Confirm the page URL is correct, then reload the page and try the capture again.
- Update and restart Chrome. Install any available Chrome update, restart the browser, reopen the target page, and retry. These are general Chrome loading checks, not a confirmed fix for URLbox.
- Compare regular and Incognito windows. Try the page in Incognito mode as a way to investigate whether the regular browser context is involved. This is only a diagnostic test: whether URLbox is available in Incognito can depend on your extension settings.
- Check for an extension conflict. Temporarily disable other extensions, then retry. If the loading issue stops, re-enable extensions one at a time to see whether one coincides with its return. Chrome recommends this general isolation approach; it does not establish that another extension caused a URLbox problem. See Google’s instructions for connection and loading errors.
- Inspect URLbox’s status and site access. Open Chrome’s extension management view and check that URLbox is enabled and has the appropriate access to the site you are capturing. Change site access only if the required site is missing and the permission is appropriate. If Chrome marks the extension corrupted, follow its offered repair option. Keep extension loading separate from page-rendering options
URLbox documents screenshot behavior such as full-page scrolling, lazy-loaded content, and capturing an element. Those settings concern how a rendering request captures a page; they do not explain or diagnose a browser extension popup that remains on a loading state. See the URLbox screenshots documentation.
Likewise, URLbox’s wait_until and wait_to_leave options control when a rendering request proceeds—for example, waiting for a page loading indicator to disappear. They are request options, not extension troubleshooting controls. Details are in Urlbox’s render options documentation.

Contact Urlbox if the loading state persists
If the checks do not resolve the issue, send Urlbox enough detail to investigate. Its support page asks for a render link or API options, the resulting image URL, and a request ID when available. It offers chat, email, and the option to book a call. Urlbox says users usually hear back within an hour; that is its stated typical response, not a guaranteed deadline.
Include these details when you contact support:
- Chrome and operating-system versions.
- The URLbox extension version.
- Whether the issue affects one website or several.
- Whether the symptom changes in Incognito or after disabling other extensions.
- Any error shown, plus a render link, image URL, or request ID if available.
