You can use Remini on a PC through Remini Web in a desktop browser; the official Help Center documents a web workflow rather than requiring a Windows-native app. To restore an old print, first scan it or take a photo of it, then upload the resulting digital image. The web process is to create an account, subscribe, upload, enhance, choose an output format and download the result.
Can you use Remini on a computer?
Yes. Remini identifies Remini Web as its desktop option for enhancing photos and videos, and says users can submit old photos stored on a computer as well as prints that have been digitized or photographed. Its reviewed support pages do not establish that a separate Windows installation is required. See the Remini Help Center’s enhancement guidance.

Prepare an old photo for Remini
Remini works from a digital image file. If you already have the photograph on your PC, you can start with that file. If the original is a paper print, scan it or photograph it with a smartphone and transfer the image to your computer. A scanner is optional; Remini also documents photographed prints as an input.
For a useful starting image, keep the entire photo in frame and avoid glare, strong shadows, or motion blur when photographing a print. These are practical capture considerations, not Remini-specific requirements.

How to use Remini on PC
- Open Remini Web: Visit Remini’s web app in a desktop browser and create an account. The official web instructions say a subscription is needed for the described workflow. Review the offer shown in your account before subscribing.
- Select a digital photo: Choose a photo stored on your computer. If you have a print, scan it or photograph it first, then select that image file.
- Upload and enhance: Upload the image and start the enhancement. Remini’s support article says results are ready after a couple of minutes; that is guidance from the article, not a guaranteed processing time.
- Review and adjust: Check the result against the original. If available, use the web toolbar controls to refine the result.
- Choose a format and download: Select an output format and download the finished image to your computer.

What the web toolbar can change
Remini’s toolbar guidance, updated May 15, 2026, lists Face Enhance, Beautify, Background Enhance and Color Correction, along with saved settings that can be applied again. Which controls are available can depend on the product experience you see. These tools can alter appearance, but they do not establish that reconstructed details are historically accurate.

Remini’s toolbar article describes the controls. Compare the enhanced file with the source before keeping it, especially if facial features, clothing or background details matter to you.
What AI restoration can—and cannot—tell you
Remini markets its online Photo Restorer for faded, degraded and damaged pictures, and advertises blur reduction, sharpening and grain cleanup. The company says of examples on its Photo Restorer page, “All the enhancements shown in the website are 100% authentic.” That is Remini’s representation of its displayed examples, not an independent assessment of every uploaded photo.

Enhancement is not proof that missing information has been recovered. When a source is badly blurred, damaged or incomplete, an AI-generated-looking improvement may include details that cannot be verified from the original. Treat the output as an enhanced interpretation, not a reliable historical record of details the photograph no longer contains. See Remini’s Photo Restorer page for the company’s product claims.
Check the web plan before subscribing
Remini’s web subscription article, updated July 14, 2023, describes plan-dependent quantity and quality limits and says a web plan does not include access to the mobile app. Because that article is dated, it should not be used as a current price quote or confirmation of today’s allowances. Check the plan and limits displayed in your own account before paying, and distinguish a Remini Web subscription from mobile-app access.

Understand the stated image-retention policy
Remini Web’s Privacy and Cookie Policy, last updated January 20, 2026, states: “Images, videos and audio-recordings uploaded to the web app are deleted from our servers after 1 day.” This is the policy’s stated retention rule for uploaded media; it does not mean all account or personal data is deleted after one day. Read the Remini Web Privacy and Cookie Policy if you need to assess how the service handles other data before uploading family photographs.
