The Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless is a Switch 2 controller for players who want a themed, semi-translucent look and TMR thumbsticks without paying the snapshot price of Nintendo’s Pro Controller. Its appearance is its biggest draw, but the trade-offs matter: TechRadar’s review says the wireless model lacks rumble and NFC, and its Home button cannot wake the console from sleep. If those features are essential, this is not the right pad; if style and rear-button remapping matter more, it makes a distinctive alternative.
What the wireless Rematch offers
This review covers the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch 2, not the separately sold wired Rematch. Turtle Beach lists the wireless model as compatible with Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED. Its US price was listed as $64.99 when the manufacturer page was accessed on October 7, 2026; prices and available designs can change.

The controller’s character-themed shells, semi-translucent finish and four RGB lighting modes give it a more playful look than a conventional dark gamepad. Listed designs include Donkey Kong Jungle, Starry Dream, Timmy & Tommy, Rosalina, Mario Kart World, Koopa Troop, Mario & Luigi, K.K. Slider, Super Mario Jump and Charcoal Black. Which is cutest is subjective, and the lineup may vary by region or over time.

The manufacturer lists dimensions of 160 × 135 × 65 mm, a weight of 0.36 kg and a 1 m USB-C charging cable in the box. It rates the rechargeable battery for up to 40 hours with RGB off or up to 12 hours with RGB effects on; those are manufacturer estimates, not independently verified runtimes.

How it feels and performs
TechRadar’s review, first reviewed in February 2026, praises the semi-translucent themed design and TMR sticks, describing the controller as ergonomic, well-sized and solid in performance. The reviewer also finds the build somewhat plasticky and less premium-feeling than the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. Those are that publication’s impressions, not a claim that every player will experience the fit or finish the same way.
TechRadar says its reviewer tested the pad over several weeks with Switch 2, original Switch and retro games, and compared it with other wireless controllers. Nintendo Life’s February 14, 2026 review offers a second perspective, positioning it as a lower-priced alternative to the official Pro Controller in the UK market and highlighting its updated Mario styling and C button.
What it gives up
The most consequential omissions are not cosmetic. TechRadar reports that the wireless Rematch has no rumble, no NFC for amiibo functionality, and cannot wake the console from sleep using its Home button. If you rely on vibration for feedback, scan amiibo, or often resume play by pressing the controller’s Home button, these absences can outweigh the themed shell and stick technology.
Rank #2
- TMR thumbsticks deliver smooth, accurate gameplay
- Up to 30-foot low latency wireless connection
- Rechargeable battery for up to 40-hours of play time per charge
- Dual mappable quick-action back buttons
- Textured thumbsticks and grips
Keep those points specific to the wireless model. Turtle Beach’s separate wired Rematch has a different feature set, including Hall-effect thumbsticks and a 3.5 mm headset jack; its features should not be assumed to apply to this controller.
How it compares with other controllers
The following prices are a dated comparison snapshot reported by TechRadar, not guaranteed current prices. Its listed regional figures were $64.99 / £54.99 / AU$99 for the wireless Rematch, $84.99 / £74.99 / AU$119.95 for the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, and $69.99 / £59.99 / AU$90 for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2. Check current local listings before buying; availability and prices can change.

| Controller | Price snapshot | Relevant features and trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless | $64.99 / £54.99 / AU$99, as listed in TechRadar’s review snapshot | TMR sticks, themed semi-translucent designs and remappable rear buttons; TechRadar reports no rumble or NFC and no console wake-from-sleep function. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller | $84.99 / £74.99 / AU$119.95, as listed in TechRadar’s review snapshot | TechRadar notes that it includes rumble and NFC. Its higher snapshot price buys features the wireless Rematch omits. |
| 8BitDo Ultimate 2 | $69.99 / £59.99 / AU$90, as listed in TechRadar’s review snapshot | TechRadar identifies TMR sticks and Hall-effect triggers. Verify current compatibility, features and regional availability before choosing it. |
The comparison is about fit, not a universal ranking. The Rematch’s case is its look, TMR sticks and rear-button mapping. The Pro Controller is the more relevant alternative if rumble, NFC or a more premium-feeling build is a priority. The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 is another option to investigate if TMR sticks are high on your list.
Is the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless worth it?
It is worth considering if you want a character-themed Switch 2 controller, like its semi-translucent and RGB styling, and value TMR sticks and remappable rear buttons. Its listed price was below the Pro Controller’s in TechRadar’s comparison snapshot, though neither figure should be treated as a current quote.

Turtle Beach also lists a distinct wired Rematch, which the manufacturer priced at $29.99 in the US when its page was accessed on October 7, 2026. It is a separate, lower-priced product, listed as compatible with Switch 2, Switch and Switch OLED. Its advertised features include Hall-effect thumbsticks, a GameChat C button, mappable rear buttons and a 3.5 mm headset jack. The manufacturer’s page gives inconsistent cable lengths—10 feet (3 m) in one feature bullet and 8 feet elsewhere—so no cable length is quoted here. The Goomba Stomp version is described as glow-in-the-dark.
