The button depends on your Beats model: on Beats Studio Buds+, press and hold the button above the “b” logo on either earbud; on Beats Studio Pro, press the system button twice. Each switches between Noise Cancellation and Transparency, and a tone confirms the change.
Turn on noise cancelling with the Beats buttons
Wear the connected earbuds or headphones before changing modes. If the current mode is Transparency, use the model-specific control below to switch to Noise Cancellation.

Beats Studio Buds+
- Put in the earbuds and make sure they are connected to your Apple or Android device.
- Press and hold the button above the “b” logo on either earbud.
- Listen for the tone confirming the listening mode changed. If needed, repeat the press-and-hold to reach Noise Cancellation from the current mode.

Beats Studio Pro
- Wear the headphones and make sure they are connected to your Apple or Android device.
- Press the system button twice.
- Listen for the tone confirming the mode changed.
This switches between Noise Cancellation and Transparency. The instructions are in Apple’s Beats Studio Pro guide.

Choose Noise Cancellation from your phone
You can also select a listening mode in controls on a connected Apple device. On Android, open the Beats app, select the connected device under My Beats, then tap Noise Cancellation on. Menu placement can vary by device. Apple describes these options in its listening modes guide.
Include Off in the mode cycle
Off is not enabled by default in the cited instructions for Studio Buds+ and Studio Pro. If you want to cycle among Off, Transparency, and Noise Cancellation, enable Off in the listening-mode or press-and-hold settings for your model. The setting is described in Apple’s press-and-hold settings guide.

For Studio Buds+, Apple says turning off both ANC and Transparency maximizes battery life. This battery guidance is specific to that model.

If the button does not turn on noise cancelling
- Check the model. Studio Buds+ use a press-and-hold; Studio Pro use two presses of the system button. These steps should not be assumed to apply to other Beats models.
- Check the button assignment. If holding an earbud button triggers something else, press-and-hold settings for supported Beats controls may have been customized for another action, such as Siri.
- Confirm connection and ANC support. Make sure the Beats are connected, and verify that your particular model supports ANC. Not every Beats product necessarily has noise cancellation.
