Tron Script is a Windows batch-script package that runs a sequence of maintenance and security utilities. It is intended for PC technicians familiar with basic troubleshooting and command-line work—not as an effortless one-click fix. Before running it, finish pending Windows updates, obtain the complete package from the project’s stated release channel, and be prepared for a process that can take several hours.
What Tron Script does—and who it is for
Tron is a master script that launches a series of stage scripts. The maintainer describes its workflow as Prep, Tempclean, De-bloat, Disinfect, Repair, Patch, Optimize and Wrap-up, followed by optional manual tools. In the documented version, the Disinfect stage includes Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner and Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool; the included utilities can change between releases.

The maintainer says Tron is meant for PC technicians familiar with basic troubleshooting and command-line operation. A 2025 release post describes automating approximately 85% of tedious technician work as a project goal, not a measured result. The project documentation explains the intended workflow, but does not establish that Tron will find or remove malware on a particular PC, guarantee a clean system or prevent reinfection.

Before you install or run Tron
- Reboot Windows first. Let pending updates finish before starting. The project warns that a Windows reboot during Tron while updates are pending can brick the system.
- Get the complete package. Use the download links in the top post of r/TronScript. The source repository alone is not the working package.
- Allow time and plan for a restart. The README estimates a run at 3–10 hours and advises against cancelling it mid-run. Reboot after completion before using the computer for other work.
- Use the tool only if you can manage a technician-oriented process. It requires administrator privileges and includes a manual scanner prompt. Advanced switches change what the process does.
How to install and run Tron
- Reboot the target PC and confirm that Windows has finished installing pending updates.
- Download the full package using the links in the top post of r/TronScript. Do not try to run the source repository as though it were the packaged tool.
- Extract the package. If you downloaded the self-extracting EXE, run it to extract
tron.batand theresourcesfolder. Copy both to the target computer’s Desktop. - Choose the run mode. Use Regular mode for ordinary cases; the README generally recommends it unless the system is severely infected. Safe Mode is also described as an available mode, but it is not the default recommendation for routine runs.
- Start the script with elevated permissions. Right-click
tron.batand select Run as Administrator. Follow any prompts shown by the tools it launches. - Start Malwarebytes when prompted. During Stage 3, click Scan in the Malwarebytes window. Tron continues other tasks while it waits for that action.
- Let the process finish. Expect a multi-hour run; do not cancel it mid-run. If an interruption does occur, the README says Tron can be restarted and should resume from the last successfully started stage.
- Reboot Windows after completion before returning to other work.
Regular mode, Safe Mode and optional switches

The project documentation says an interrupted run can be restarted and should resume from the last successfully started stage. That is not a reason to interrupt a run deliberately; the README advises letting it complete.

Verify the package and find the log
The project provides SHA-256 checksums for its package and says they are signed with the maintainer’s PGP key. Comparing the downloaded package with the published checksum and signature provides a way to check package integrity; it does not establish that the utilities will produce a particular cleanup result. Follow the project’s verification instructions and use the maintainer’s stated key information.
The MKPedersen README gives the default master log path as C:Logstrontron.log. The bmrf README uses a lowercase path variant, so check the README for the package you obtained if the stated path does not match.

What to expect from the cleanup
Tron automates a sequence of tasks and launches third-party utilities; it does not make every stage’s outcome predictable. In particular, the presence of antivirus scanners in the documented Disinfect stage is not evidence that a computer is infected or that a scan will detect or remove anything. Included third-party utilities may also have their own license terms.

The project’s instructions establish how it is intended to be run, not independent proof of safety or effectiveness. Keep important data protected and use appropriate troubleshooting judgment before running a long, elevated maintenance process on a computer you cannot afford to disrupt.
