That number is not a guaranteed out-of-box speed: GIGABYTE says advanced BIOS tuning and specialized components are required, and results vary by system and operating conditions. The available evidence establishes specifications and launch claims, not independent testing of a retail board.
What the X870 AORUS INFINITY is
GIGABYTE lists the X870 AORUS INFINITY as an AMD X870 motherboard for Socket AM5, in an E-ATX form factor measuring 30.5 × 27.5 cm. It supports Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series processors, but exact CPU support and any required BIOS version depend on the specific processor. Check GIGABYTE’s CPU support list before choosing a chip.

The E-ATX dimensions matter for fit: confirm that your case supports this board size and that its mounting points and cable clearances suit the build. The X870 chipset and AM5 socket alone do not establish that every processor has identical expansion or storage behavior.
How fast is its DDR5 memory support?
The board has two DDR5 DIMM sockets in a dual-channel layout and a listed maximum memory capacity of 128 GB. GIGABYTE lists AMD EXPO and XMP profile support, as well as memory rates up to 11,400 MT/s under manual overclocking conditions.

- Connectivity: PCIe 5.0, 4x M.2 Slots, Dual USB4, Front and Rear USB-C, Sensor Panel Link
That 11,400 MT/s figure is a specification-page overclocking ceiling, not a promised speed for every CPU, memory kit or BIOS setting. GIGABYTE says advanced BIOS tuning and specialized components are required, and notes that results vary with system configuration and operating conditions. A kit’s advertised profile is not proof that it will run stably at that rate in a particular build.
GIGABYTE’s memory support list is the practical place to check validated modules. Confirm the exact kit model, capacity and CPU context rather than relying only on a kit’s EXPO or XMP label.

What does GIGABYTE claim about CL24?
In its June 1, 2026 announcement, GIGABYTE said: “By pushing CL24 timing, twice as tight as standard timings, the motherboard delivers an impressive 20% speed advantage and achieves the lowest memory latency ever on the AMD X870 platform for a faster, more responsive gaming and computing experience.” This is the manufacturer’s claim; the reviewed material does not provide an independent test method or validation for the 20% figure. Treat it as a launch claim, not a measured result that establishes how much faster a finished PC will be.

CPU support, PCIe and storage depend on the processor
Although the board supports Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series processors, available expansion behavior varies by CPU family. GIGABYTE lists a CPU-connected primary PCIe x16 slot whose mode depends on the processor. A second CPU-connected slot is available with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 processors but unavailable with the listed Ryzen 8000 Phoenix processors.
The specification page also describes two CPU-attached PCIe 5.0 M.2 connectors for Ryzen 9000 and 7000, with processor-dependent PCIe 4.0 behavior for Ryzen 8000. The full specification table lists additional storage connectors, but lane and connector details should be checked against the exact CPU before planning graphics cards or drives. Do not assume that every AM5 processor exposes the same slots at the same mode.

Connectivity and system fit
The official specifications list 5GbE Ethernet, Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB4 Type-C. These are useful headline features, but their practical value depends on the rest of the setup:
- Wi-Fi 7 features require Windows 11 SV3. Access to 6 GHz channels depends on local regulations, and actual throughput varies with equipment and environment.
- The wired network port is rated at 5GbE; using that link rate requires compatible networking equipment and a suitable connection at the other end.
- Bluetooth details can change with module updates, according to GIGABYTE.
- USB4 Type-C is listed on the board, but check the full specification and your device requirements for the exact ports and capabilities needed.
Is it worth buying?
The specifications make this board most relevant to a buyer who wants an AM5 E-ATX platform with two DDR5 slots, high-capacity memory support, modern networking and USB4 Type-C. Its 11,400 MT/s figure may interest memory overclockers, but it should not be the sole reason to buy: it is a manual-overclocking ceiling, not an assurance of stable performance or a measured advantage in applications.

A purchase decision still needs three checks: a CPU-specific look at GIGABYTE’s support and BIOS information, a memory-kit check against the current QVL, and confirmation that the case and planned drives or expansion cards fit the board’s dimensions and CPU-dependent lane layout. Price and current availability also need checking for your market. Tom’s Hardware reported on June 2, 2026 that pricing and availability were not announced at the launch event; that report does not establish present-day stock or pricing.
No independent hands-on review, retail-board stability testing or benchmark results for this exact model are established in the cited material. Accordingly, claims about real-world performance, stability, or superiority over competing boards cannot be verified from these sources.
