What TouchRemove was designed to do
Product Hunt describes TouchRemove as an Android app launched in 2017 for removing unwanted objects from pictures. Its documented workflow is to mask an object—such as a powerline or tourist—and fill the marked area with content-aware fill. How the alternatives differ from TouchRemove
TouchRetouch: automatic removal and manual repair
TouchRetouch is the closest named mobile comparison in the available documentation: it describes automatic object removal with a Brush and Clone Stamp for manual repair. Its Google Play listing was reported as updated on August 10, 2026. PhotoRoom: Retouch within a broader editor
PhotoRoom documents Retouch both as a standalone tool for new designs and as a feature inside its editor for existing designs. Its help article says Add mode is available on iOS and Android. What to check before switching
Availability is the first practical check. TouchRemove’s original Google Play link could not be accessed in the sources reviewed, so current download status and regional support are not established. Check the store listing for your country and device before planning around it. For alternatives, confirm the current listing and feature access on your own platform.
Then try the same representative photo in the apps you can access. Include the kind of object you actually need to remove and its surrounding background; compare whether the edited area looks acceptable and how much manual cleanup the workflow requires. The cited sources do not provide controlled comparisons of quality or speed, nor comparable information about image limits, export quality, current pricing, subscriptions, or privacy practices, so those factors need to be checked directly for each app.
