Trustpage Cookies Competitors & Alternatives (2026): What the Product Hunt Listing Covers

Trustpage Cookies is not a cookie-consent product. It was a 2021 Product Hunt launch with a privacy message and a giveaway of 300 boxes of edible, nut-free chocolate chip cookies, urging website owners to remove third-party cookies. If you are looking for a cookie banner or privacy analytics tool, Product Hunt’s alternatives list is a starting point, but its entries are platform groupings, not vetted substitutes. This article covers what the launch was, how it differs from today’s Trustpage, what the listed alternatives generally do, and how to compare them.

What the 2021 Trustpage Cookies launch was

Product Hunt records Trustpage Cookies as a 2021 launch that ranked #3 of the day on December 3, 2021. The launch copy describes a giveaway of 300 boxes of edible cookies, and the maker’s launch comment identifies them as nut-free chocolate chip cookies.

The maker, Chase Lee, framed the offer around a single request: stop using third-party cookies. He wrote: “At Trustpage we made a commitment from day one to not use third-party cookies – we’re sticking to that, and you should too.”

Read the campaign as a historical privacy-awareness stunt that used cookies as a pun. It was not a software release, and it should not be assumed to be an ongoing offer.

Current Trustpage is a different product

The Trustpage website today describes a hosted trust center for B2B security materials, including security reports, FAQs, and NDA-gated documents. It is a separate offering that happens to share the name. Readers searching for cookie tools should not treat Trustpage’s trust center as a cookie-consent alternative.

What Product Hunt lists as alternatives

Product Hunt’s alternatives page for Trustpage Cookies lists, among others:

  • Plausible Analytics
  • Usermaven
  • TelemetryDeck
  • Simple Analytics
  • Fathom Analytics
  • CookieLawInfo
  • Microanalytics
  • Hush for Safari
  • Ketch Free
  • Databuddy Analytics

The entries span five loose groups: privacy-focused analytics, general analytics, cookie and privacy information, ad blocking, and cookie-banner or compliance software. Product Hunt presents them as similar products. It does not show that each one is a direct substitute for the 2021 giveaway, and it provides no controlled comparison of features, pricing, or results. Listings change over time, so check the live page before relying on it.

Compare alternatives by job, not by name

Because the list mixes categories, the useful first question is what job you need the tool to do. The table below maps each category to the question that should drive your choice.

The Smart Cookie: A Story About Self-Esteem and Feeling Smart (The Food Group)
  • The Bad Seed
  • The Good Egg
  • The Cool Bean
  • The Couch Potato
  • The Good Egg Presents: The Great Eggscape!
Category on the list Job it usually addresses Question to answer before choosing
Privacy-focused analytics Measuring site traffic with a privacy-oriented approach Can you document what data is collected, and does the vendor’s current policy match your needs?
General analytics Measuring site traffic and behavior Does it collect more data than you actually use?
Cookie and privacy information Explaining cookie practices to visitors Does it provide information only, or also manage visitor choices?
Ad blocking Blocking ads or trackers in a browser or on a page Will it affect your visitors’ experience or distort your own measurement?
Cookie-banner or compliance software Collecting and recording visitor consent Does it keep consent records, and which regions does its workflow cover?

How to evaluate a shortlist

  1. Decide the job first. Pick one of the five categories above. A consent banner and a privacy analytics tool solve different problems, and many sites need only one.
  2. Check the vendor’s live pricing and feature pages. The sources behind this article do not establish current pricing or feature matrices for any listed product, so you will need to confirm them directly.
  3. Verify what your site actually sets. In Chrome DevTools, open the Application panel, expand Storage, and select Cookies for your domain. Compare the list before and after installing a tool, and again after accepting and rejecting consent.
  4. Confirm legal requirements with a qualified adviser. Cookie and consent rules vary by jurisdiction, and a listing on a discovery page does not indicate compliance with any particular regime.

If you want to recreate the campaign

The original giveaway was described as nut-free chocolate chip cookies. For a recreation or a discussion piece, treat that as a product type rather than the exact item given away. The sources do not identify a fulfillment vendor or affiliate program for branded edible sampling, so you would source the cookies yourself. Confirm the nut-free claim with your supplier’s labeling, since the maker’s description is not a certification.
