GameGrin’s weekly follower-growth ranking puts AION 2 first, with 25,999 followers gained from September 28 through October 4, 2026. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE take second and third. This is a list of games gaining followers—not Steam’s most-played or best-selling chart.
How this Steam trending list is ranked
GameGrin ranks the 20 games by followers earned during the week of September 28–October 4, 2026. The publication describes follower gains as an indication of player interest across old and new releases. It does not provide an independent Steam dataset or explain how it collected the follower counts, so the figures below should be read as GameGrin-reported numbers.

Follower growth is a measure of rising interest, not proof of sales, concurrent players, or overall popularity. The list includes released games alongside upcoming and unreleased titles, so momentum can build before a game launches.

What the follower gains show
AION 2 leads the week
GameGrin reports AION 2 gained 25,999 followers, more than twice the 10,810 reported for second-place The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. Third-place ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE was close behind at 10,664.
Interest spans old and upcoming games
The ranking puts long-running titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Euro Truck Simulator 2, and Stardew Valley alongside games with dates in 2026 or 2027 and titles whose release dates are listed as “Coming soon” or “To be announced.” That mix makes the chart useful for spotting follower momentum, but not for inferring how many people are playing each game.

AI-generated-content disclosures
GameGrin marks AION 2, Family Time, Scam With Your Friends, and Active Matter as carrying AI-generated-content disclosures. The notice identifies those disclosures; it does not, by itself, establish how much AI-generated material a game contains.
How this differs from Steam charts and sales rankings
Steam’s Charts page separates weekly charts from live Top Sellers and Most Played views. These answer different questions: follower gains indicate growing interest, concurrent-player counts indicate play activity at a point in time, and seller rankings concern sales performance.

SteamDB’s weekly global Top Sellers list is a revenue ranking based on Steam weekly charts, not a follower-growth list. The date windows can differ too: Steam’s chart page showed a weekly chart dated September 29, 2026, when accessed October 7, while SteamDB displayed a sellers window of September 29–October 6. A direct comparison with GameGrin’s September 28–October 4 ranking would therefore mix both metrics and periods.
