Tony Driscoll’s confirmed role is President of Paramount Games Studio, not a confirmed position running Warner Bros. Games. Skydance completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6, 2026, bringing franchises including Batman and SpongeBob SquarePants into the combined company’s portfolio. But the companies have not publicly confirmed how Warner Bros. Games will fit into Driscoll’s organization.

Who is Tony Driscoll, and what does he lead?

Paramount named Driscoll President of Paramount Games Studio on June 5, 2026, before the Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition closed. The announcement also identified him as EVP of Corporate Strategy and Development. It described the studio as bringing together Paramount and Skydance gaming operations, with Skydance Games as a publishing label and Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media as development teams. Driscoll described games as “a core pillar of our content strategy alongside film, television, and streaming.” That statement explains the studio’s strategic importance, but it does not establish his authority over every game based on every franchise the combined company owns.

Does Driscoll now run Warner Bros. Games?

That has not been confirmed in the cited company announcements. Paramount’s June announcement sets out the Paramount Games Studio structure; Skydance’s October closing announcement confirms the acquisition, but does not specify that Warner Bros. Games reports to Driscoll or explain how the two games organizations will be integrated. It is therefore accurate to say Driscoll leads Paramount Games Studio, but not that he has been confirmed as head of Warner Bros. Games.

What did the Warner Bros. Discovery deal close for?

Skydance announced that the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery was complete on October 6, 2026, and said the combined company would be named Skydance. The closing release states that WBD shareholders received $31.01666668 in cash per share. Skydance’s closing announcement

The often-cited $110.9 billion figure is not the cash paid to shareholders. The Associated Press described the takeover as valued at $81 billion and the total as nearly $111 billion including debt. Those figures refer to different measures of the transaction, not a per-share payout. Associated Press coverage of the deal

Why are Batman and SpongeBob in the headline?

They illustrate the breadth of the combined company’s franchises: Batman is part of the DC portfolio, while SpongeBob SquarePants represents its children’s and animation properties. The AP’s coverage lists both among the franchises under Skydance’s umbrella, and Skydance’s closing announcement also names SpongeBob. This is portfolio context, not evidence that Driscoll personally oversees the development of every Batman or SpongeBob game.

What happens to Warner Bros. Games and streaming services?

Warner Bros. Games

The post-acquisition reporting structure for Warner Bros. Games remains unspecified in the cited official announcements. No integration plan or reporting line placing it under Driscoll has been announced in those materials.

Paramount+ and HBO Max

Skydance says Paramount+ and HBO Max are intended to unify into one service “over time,” without giving a date or product details. The Associated Press reported no immediate change to the services at the October 6 close. The announced future intention should not be mistaken for a service merger already completed.
