But the same leak puts the standard S27 and S27+ below their reported current S26 prices. These are preliminary targets from a tipster, not prices announced by Samsung.
What the Galaxy S27 price rumor says
In an October 7, 2026 post, tipster account @phonefuturist listed preliminary U.S. starting-price targets for four purported Galaxy S27 models. Android Authority and 9to5Google reported the figures the following day. The post described them as “Current targets, subject to change” and cautioned that prices vary by region. Samsung has not confirmed the S27 lineup or any of these prices.

| Rumored model | Preliminary U.S. target |
|---|---|
| Galaxy S27 | $899 |
| Galaxy S27+ | $1,099 |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | $1,299 |
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | $1,399 |
These are reported targets, not confirmed retail prices. The post also gave figures for South Korea and other markets; those are separate regional prices, not conversions or alternatives to the U.S. targets. Android Authority’s report and 9to5Google’s coverage describe the same tipster post, so the second report is corroboration that the post circulated, not a separate confirmation of the prices.
How the targets compare with Galaxy S26 prices
The comparison changes depending on whether the baseline is Samsung’s official S26 launch pricing or later reported prices. Samsung announced U.S. launch starting prices of $899.99 for the Galaxy S26, $1,099.99 for the S26+, and $1,299.99 for the S26 Ultra. Tom’s Guide reported on October 1, 2026 that starting prices for the 256GB S26 models had risen to $999, $1,199, and $1,399, respectively. Those later figures describe prices at the time of that report, not a permanent price list.

| Model or tier | S26 official U.S. launch starting price | S26 price reported October 1, 2026 | Rumored S27 U.S. target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | $899.99 | $999 (256GB) | S27: $899 |
| Plus | $1,099.99 | $1,199 (256GB) | S27+: $1,099 |
| Pro | No S26 Pro price in these comparisons | No S26 Pro price in these comparisons | S27 Pro: $1,299 |
| Ultra | $1,299.99 | $1,399 (256GB) | S27 Ultra: $1,399 |
The S27 base and Plus targets are roughly $100 below the later S26 starting prices Tom’s Guide reported, but match the S26 and S26+ launch prices when rounded to whole dollars. The S27 Ultra target is about $100 above the S26 Ultra’s official launch price, while matching the later $1,399 figure reported for the 256GB S26 Ultra. The rumored S27 Pro has no direct S26 counterpart in this comparison, making a simple model-for-model price judgment impossible.
Sources: Samsung’s S26 launch announcement and Tom’s Guide’s October 1, 2026 price report. Retail pricing can change, so the latter is a dated snapshot.

Why the rumor may be the “worst one yet”
The headline-grabbing part is the Ultra target: $1,399 would be a $100 increase over Samsung’s official S26 Ultra launch starting price. That sounds like a clear year-over-year hike, but it is not a clean comparison with the later S26 price reported in October, which was also $1,399 for the 256GB model. Meanwhile, the base and Plus targets look lower only against those later reported S26 prices—not against the S26 launch prices they match.

The leak also adds a purported Pro tier between Plus and Ultra. If that model exists, the S27 lineup would not map neatly onto the three S26 prices in Samsung’s launch announcement. Samsung has not confirmed a Pro model, so treating its $1,299 target as a settled new price tier would be premature.

What is known—and not known—about S27 displays
The same rumor says the standard S27 and S27+ would use Samsung M14+ OLED panels, while the purported Pro and Ultra would use M16 panels. Reports have speculated that the more advanced panel could be associated with privacy-display features, but that connection is unconfirmed. These display claims do not establish why the models might cost different amounts, nor do they verify the pricing.
Samsung has confirmed that the S26 Ultra introduced a built-in Privacy Display in its official S26 announcement. That is an S26 Ultra feature; it is not evidence that the S27 Ultra will have the same feature or a particular panel.

Should you buy the Galaxy S26 or wait?
Do not base a purchase decision on the leaked S27 prices alone. If you need a phone now, compare the actual current S26 price and features with your needs; the October 1 price report is not a guarantee of today’s retail price. If you can wait, the rumor may provide a rough indication of possible S27 tiers, but neither the lineup nor the targets are confirmed. Revisit the comparison once Samsung announces official S27 models, specifications, and regional prices.
