The Sinking City 2 Photo Mode offers controls for camera framing and focus, color and exposure, screen effects, named filters, frames and logos, and hiding the interface. For a clean result, compose and focus first, adjust color and effects against the live preview, then remove overlays and hide the UI before capture. Slider ranges and defaults are not established for every control in the available guide, so use the values shown in your game.
What Photo Mode controls are available?
The following control names and descriptions come from Nerd’s Chalk’s guide, updated August 21, 2026. It is a secondary reference, not an official developer manual; menu order and exact behavior may vary. Adjust each option while watching the live preview, since scene lighting changes how an effect looks.

Camera and focus
- Angle: Adjusts the angle of the active camera or adjustable visual element.
- Field of View: Widens or tightens the visible scene without moving the subject.
- Sensor Width: Changes simulated sensor framing and lens presentation used with Field of View.
- Roll: Tilts the view around the camera’s viewing axis for level or canted framing.
- Depth of Field: Separates the focused region from blurred foreground or background.
- Focus Distance: Moves the plane of sharp focus nearer to or farther from the camera.
- Aperture: Simulates a lens opening used with depth-of-field blur.
Color and exposure
- Brightness changes overall lightness; Gamma affects midtone visibility; Contrast changes separation between light and dark.
- Saturation changes color strength. Temperature shifts the image warmer or cooler, while Tint adds a complementary color shift.
- Red, Green, and Blue adjust each color contribution.
- Color Balance and Color Grading are also listed, but the guide does not establish their exact in-game behavior.
Screen effects
- Film Grain adds texture; Vignette shades the frame edges; Sharpness changes apparent edge and detail definition.
- Aberration Offset, Desaturate, and Screen Effects are listed options. The guide does not define their full operation.
- Intensity adjusts the strength of a compatible selected effect.
Frames, logos, and capture view
- Frame selects a frame style; Size and Horizontal/Vertical positioning controls adjust presentation.
- Horizontal Alignment and Vertical Alignment are listed alongside the positioning controls.
- Listed presentation options include Instant, Instant Wide, Instant Wide Black, and Logo.
- Grid displays a composition guide. Hide UI removes the Photo Mode interface from the capture view.
Every named filter in the guide
The guide lists these 16 named filters, plus a Filter selector and Filter Intensity control:
- Black and White
- Cold
- Desaturated
- Heat
- Inverted Draw
- Negative Black/White
- Negative
- Outline
- Pixelated (64)
- Pixelated (128)
- Pixelated (256)
- Red and Cyan
- Retro
- Sepia
- Vibrant
- Warm
The source supplies the pixelated variants’ names, but no technical definition of what their numbers represent. Treat them as stylistic options and judge the result in the preview rather than assuming a particular resolution or rendering method.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to build a clear screenshot
- Compose the scene. Set Field of View and Roll to frame the subject. Use Grid if you want a guide while placing a creature, clue, or silhouette.
- Set focus. Adjust Focus Distance and Depth of Field so the important subject remains sharp. For a portrait, the guide suggests combining Aperture and Focus Distance with Field of View or Sensor Width.
- Correct color and exposure. In a dark scene, start with Brightness and Gamma, then adjust Contrast. Use Temperature or Tint carefully so the subject remains readable.
- Choose a look and effects. Apply a filter or color grade after the composition and focus are settled. Add effects such as grain or vignette only if they support the image; reduce their intensity if the focal subject becomes difficult to read.
- Clean up the capture. Turn off decorative Frame and Logo options if you want an uncluttered image, then activate Hide UI before capture.
These are creative starting points from the guide, not tested presets or guaranteed settings. Adapt them to the scene’s lighting and keep the subject legible:
- Oppressive realism: Try Cold or Desaturated with added Contrast, restrained Saturation, and light Film Grain.
- Detective archive: Try Black and White, controlled Gamma, Vignette, and the Instant Wide Black frame.
- Unnatural presence: Try Green or Red and Cyan with Tint, Aberration Offset, and selective Sharpness.
- Dreamlike isolation: Use Depth of Field and Focus Distance with softened Contrast and a gentle Warm or Cold grade.
- Graphic poster: Try Outline or Inverted Draw, a positioned Logo, and a carefully sized Frame.
- Low-fi horror: Try a Pixelated variant with Negative or Negative Black/White, adjusting Filter Intensity to preserve key detail.
Are exact slider ranges or defaults available?
No. The referenced guide does not establish exact ranges or defaults for every control. Use the values displayed in your current game and make adjustments in small steps while checking the preview; lighting and subject placement affect how the same setting reads.

Does The Sinking City 2 support HDR?
Yes. Frogwares’ Update 1.1.0 patch notes say HDR output was added on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, alongside HDR10+ and an in-game HDR brightness calibration screen. The notes also say HDR follows the system HDR setting rather than being forced on.

Is the boat-animation camera warning still current?
It should not be treated as a confirmed retail-game limitation. Frogwares’ pinned demo FAQ, edited June 17, 2026, described Photo Mode as a work in progress and warned of camera collision trouble when using it during boat entry or exit. That warning concerns the demo and does not establish whether the issue persists in the released game.
