For a quick cash boost, use motherlode; for an exact household balance, use Money [number]. Skill cheats follow a separate pattern and require the correct skill identifier.
Open the cheat console on your platform
- PC and Mac: Press
Ctrl+Shift+Cduring gameplay to open the cheat console. Type a command and press Enter. - PlayStation: Press
L1+L2+R1+R2together. - Xbox: Press
LB+LT+RB+RTtogether.
On consoles, enabling testingcheats disables achievements for the current save game, according to Electronic Arts Help’s console instructions. Consider that consequence before turning it on.

How do you cheat for more Simoleons?
Choose a command based on whether you want a small increment, a larger boost, or a precise household balance. Electronic Arts lists these commands in its official cheat FAQ.

Sets household funds to the number entered |
For an exact balance, replace [number] with the target amount. EA’s example is Money 145897, which sets household funds to 145,897 Simoleons.

How to use The Sims 4 skill cheats
Skill commands use this structure: stats.set_skill_level [skill_code] [skill level]. Replace the bracketed parts with the identifier for the skill and the level you want. For example, stats.set_skill_level major_programming 7 sets Programming to level 7, as shown in EA’s Programming skill guide.
The identifier is not necessarily the skill’s display name. Use the code shown in the relevant EA skill guide rather than guessing; EA also publishes dedicated guides for Handiness and Charisma. This command pattern and example do not constitute a complete list of skill codes.

Build and lot cheats have different contexts
These commands affect lots or build/buy behavior rather than directly changing a Sim’s skill or household funds:
FreeRealEstate Onlets Sims move into residential lots regardless of price. Enter it at the appropriate residential lot selection or move-in screen.bb.moveobjects onallows objects to be placed outside normal grid restrictions. Enter it in Build Mode.bb.showhiddenobjectsreveals hidden items in the build/buy catalog.
All three are listed in EA’s cheat FAQ; use each for its specific lot or catalog purpose, not as a money or skill command.
