Street Fighter 6 is a strong first fighting game if you want simplified special-move inputs alongside a substantial solo introduction and character-specific teaching. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is a good fit for simple skill inputs and structured practice; Guilty Gear -Strive- offers adaptive tutorial advice and missions. None can be called universally easiest on the available evidence: the right choice depends on which controls, learning tools and game style you prefer.

How the three games compare for beginners

Game Getting started Solo learning Practice and online support
Street Fighter 6 Modern simplifies special-move inputs; Classic keeps the traditional six-button layout and command inputs. Dynamic is intended for casual offline play and is limited to certain Fighting Ground modes. [Capcom Support] World Tour is presented as an entry point, while Fighting Ground has a character guide and tutorial for each character. [PlayStation] Character guides and training help with learning inputs; Modern controls are also available in Battle Hub. [PlayStation] [Capcom Support]
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Smart and Super Ultimate are promoted as accessible schemes, while Manual offers fuller control. Simple inputs lower the initial barrier, but the game also has deeper battle mechanics. [Cygames] Story teaches basics; Arcade difficulty can be adjusted after matches. [Cygames] Includes frame information, character breakdowns, Combo Practice, Situational Training and Punish Training. Cygames describes separate character Versus Ranks, crossplay and rollback netcode; private online rooms are unavailable in the Free Edition. [Cygames]
Guilty Gear -Strive- The cited official feature page describes visual guidance and tutorial support, but does not document an equivalent simplified-control mode there. [Arc System Works] The tutorial adapts advice to the player’s inputs and skill; Arcade mode includes character stories. [Arc System Works] Missions, situational training and Combo Maker support practice. Arc System Works says matchmaking is designed to seek players near the user’s skill level. [Arc System Works]

These are documented features, not evidence that one game produces faster progress or better matches for every new player. Simplified inputs address execution, but you still need to learn movement, defense, spacing and how different characters’ options interact.

What Street Fighter 6 offers a new player

Three control choices, with different limits

Modern controls reduce the execution burden for special attacks. Classic retains the six-button layout and command inputs, which may suit players who want the traditional control scheme from the outset. Dynamic is intended for casual offline play and is restricted to certain Fighting Ground modes, so it is not an all-purpose alternative. Capcom Support describes Modern as allowing special attacks through simple button combinations for players who do not want to memorize those combinations. [Capcom Support]

A solo introduction plus character-specific guidance

World Tour gives you a solo route into the game, while Fighting Ground’s character guides and tutorials provide focused help for learning individual fighters. That pairing makes Street Fighter 6 a practical recommendation if you want to experiment with easier special-move inputs and then build familiarity with a character before or alongside online play. #1 Best Overall
CAPCOM Street Fighter 6 (PS5)
  • Stunning visuals and an all new battle system depicts the world of Street Fighter with unprecedented detail.
  • For the first time ever, SF6 provides an ever evolving immersive storytelling experience that gives power to the player to create their own World Warrior and truly engage in the Street Fighter Universe
  • SF6 provides the gold standard fighting experience for both casual and battle-tested pros can enjoy for years to come.
  • Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the international version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions. DLC content may not work unless using an EU Playstation account as stated this is an EU Import Region Free Version

When Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising may suit you better

Choose Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising if you value accessible skill inputs plus explicit practice tools. Cygames presents Smart and Super Ultimate controls as approachable options, alongside Manual for players who want fuller control. The game still has deeper mechanics to learn, so an easier first input is not the same as a shallow fighting system. [Cygames]

Its story-based basics and adjustable Arcade difficulty let you practice against the game at a more manageable pace. For focused training, the official guide lists frame information, character breakdowns, Combo Practice, Situational Training and Punish Training. Cygames also describes character-specific Versus Ranks, crossplay and rollback netcode. If private online rooms matter to your plans, note that they are unavailable in the Free Edition. [Cygames]

When Guilty Gear -Strive- is worth considering

Guilty Gear -Strive- is a compelling option if its presentation appeals to you and you like guidance that responds to what you do. Arc System Works describes a tutorial that adjusts its advice to your inputs and skill, along with missions, situational training and Combo Maker for practicing community-created combos. The official feature page also says matchmaking seeks players around your skill level; that description is not a guarantee of identical matchmaking quality across regions, times or player populations. Which one should you choose?

  • Pick Street Fighter 6 if you want to try simplified special-move inputs, explore a solo introduction and use character-specific guides and tutorials.
  • Pick Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising if simple skill inputs, adjustable solo difficulty and a broad set of explicit training tools matter most.
  • Pick Guilty Gear -Strive- if its style draws you in and you want adaptive tutorial advice, missions and situational practice.

Features alone cannot establish a reliable easiest-to-hardest ranking: the publisher materials document what each game offers, not comparative completion time, retention, match quality or a beginner’s likelihood of success. Tekken 8 is another possible option, but the evidence cited here confirms its platform availability rather than its beginner teaching features. [Bandai Namco]

Rank #3
Street Fighter 6 - PS5
  • Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
  • Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
  • Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
  • In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
  • Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.

If you are deciding between these three, choose the one you are most interested in returning to. Beginner support can make the first steps clearer, but it cannot substitute for enjoying the game enough to keep practicing.
