Zoom: stream a meeting or webinar you already host in Zoom
Zoom’s YouTube option is part of its meeting or webinar controls, rather than a separate StreamYard-style production workflow. The account must be eligible, live streaming must be allowed in settings, and the host starts the stream from the event. Zoom’s documentation lists Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise for meeting streaming, with a licensed host; streaming a webinar additionally requires a Zoom Webinars license assigned to the host. Confirm that the terms apply to your specific account before scheduling. Zoom prerequisites

How to choose for your event
Pick StreamYard when the broadcast is the main event
- You want a studio workflow with branding, guest participation, or recording features documented in StreamYard’s paid plans.
- You need to send the same show to YouTube and other destinations. Match your required destination count against the current paid plan, and verify whether each destination is native or custom RTMP.
- You want pre-recorded streaming or On-Air webinar functionality, and have confirmed which current plan includes the feature.
Pick Zoom when the event itself is a Zoom meeting or webinar
- Participants are joining a Zoom meeting or webinar, and YouTube is an additional public viewing destination.
- You have confirmed the eligible Zoom account tier, host license, and any webinar license required.
- Your account administrator can enable the setting if it is disabled or locked at the account or group level.
Do not decide from unsupported quality or reliability claims
The published documentation describes different workflows and plan features, but it does not establish that either service produces better picture quality, is more reliable, or is easier for every host. Match the workflow to the event, then verify the current account and plan requirements rather than relying on a blanket winner or old comparison prices.
How to stream a Zoom meeting or webinar to YouTube
- Enable live streaming before the event. In Zoom account settings, locate the meeting or webinar live-streaming option and enable YouTube. Depending on the account, this may be controlled at account, group, or user level. If the setting is locked, ask the account owner or administrator to enable it. Zoom setup instructions
- Check the host and event license. Meeting streaming requires an eligible Zoom plan and licensed host. A webinar also requires a Zoom Webinars license assigned to the host. Resolve license access before the event rather than discovering the restriction when you try to go live. Zoom prerequisites
- Start the meeting or webinar as host. Use the event’s in-meeting controls and choose Live on YouTube. The control appears only when the feature is enabled and available to that host and event.
- Authenticate and select the YouTube channel. Complete Zoom’s sign-in or authorization prompt, then choose the channel to receive the stream.
- Set the stream details. Enter the title and choose the privacy setting and resolution offered in the workflow. Zoom notes that 1080p depends on the relevant HD setting being enabled; do not assume it is available without checking that setting.
- Start the broadcast and monitor both sides. Complete the final go-live action in Zoom and confirm the stream is appearing as expected on YouTube. Zoom says the stream ends when the meeting or webinar ends, or when the host stops it.
StreamYard setup for a YouTube broadcast
- Create a live stream in StreamYard and select YouTube as a destination. Add any other destinations only if your account’s current plan supports the count and type you need. Multistream plan details

Common problems and fixes
Zoom does not show “Live on YouTube”
Check that livestreaming is enabled in the relevant Zoom account, group, or user settings. If the option is locked, an administrator must change it. Also confirm that the host and event meet Zoom’s plan and license requirements.
You can stream a meeting but not a webinar
Webinar streaming has an additional requirement: the host needs a Zoom Webinars license assigned to their account. Confirm the license and setting before the event.

Your Zoom stream ends unexpectedly when the event ends
That is the documented event behavior: Zoom streaming ends when the meeting or webinar ends or when the host stops the stream. It is not a continuous loop of uploaded content.
StreamYard will not add another destination
