Streamlabs is not shutting down as a whole. It has announced the retirement of specific tools at different times: several branding tools in 2024, Streamlabs Music in 2025, Collectibles in December 2025, and selected widgets scheduled to sunset on April 12, 2026. The date and what happens to your content depend on which feature you used.
Which Streamlabs tools are being discontinued?
| Tool or feature | What Streamlabs announced | What users should know |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Thumbnails, Emote Maker, Logo Maker, Intro Maker, Social Reminders | Streamlabs announced their discontinuation on June 17, 2024; the notice was last updated June 20, 2024. | The retrieved announcement does not give an effective sunset date, so there is no confirmed deadline to cite. |
| Streamlabs Music | Removed from the app store March 6, 2025; existing users retained access through March 2025. It stopped working in Desktop on April 1, 2025. | Streamlabs says music used in past recordings and YouTube uploads remains DMCA-free. This is Streamlabs’ statement about past use of its app, not general licensing advice. |
| Streamlabs Collectibles | A December 17, 2025 announcement summary says support and new claims ended December 18, 2025. | The summary says previously acquired items remained in inventory and usable in Desktop scenes. The underlying announcement could not be opened, so check Streamlabs’ current support information for account-specific details. |
| Game Widget and selected goal widgets | Streamlabs Support announced a sunset date of April 12, 2026. | The notice names Game Widget, Twitch Charity Donation Goal, Facebook Supporter Goal, Facebook Stars Goal, Facebook Shares Goal, and Plarium Goal. |
These are separate retirements, not one shutdown event. Streamlabs’ help-center overview, last updated June 12, 2026, describes continuing products and services including Desktop, Mobile, Console, Cross Clip, alerts, overlays, widgets, and creator features. That overview is not a corporate-status declaration, and a dated retirement notice should govern the specific feature it names.

What happened to Streamlabs’ branding tools?
Streamlabs’ June 2024 notice named YouTube Thumbnails, Emote Maker, Logo Maker, Intro Maker, and Social Reminders. It said the tools were not aligned with the core needs of gaming and live-streaming communities. The notice does not specify when access ended; do not treat June 2024 as the actual shutdown date.
Streamlabs presented Fiverr as a route to commissioned graphics, logos, social media work, and video editing. The notice also included a 20% first-order offer with code STREAMLABSFPG2024. That was historical 2024 promotional copy, not a confirmed current discount. If you need commissioned creative work, check the marketplace’s current terms and pricing before ordering.

What should Streamlabs Music users do?
New users could no longer install Streamlabs Music after its app-store removal on March 6, 2025. Existing users had access through the end of March, and the app stopped functioning in Streamlabs Desktop from April 1, 2025. An installed app may still appear in Desktop’s interface; Streamlabs says it can be disabled under Settings > Installed Apps.
Streamlabs says music already used through the app in past recorded streams and YouTube uploads remains DMCA-free. That statement concerns past content made with Streamlabs Music; it does not establish the license status of other music or future uses. For new tracks, read the current license terms of the provider you choose and confirm they cover your platform, monetization, and intended use.

Game Widget alternative
For Twitch users of Game Widget, Streamlabs points to its Twitch Extension, which it describes as including minigames, loyalty points, and polls. Check the extension’s current availability and compatibility before building it into a stream layout.
How to handle a retirement without disrupting your channel
- Identify the exact feature. Check the name in Streamlabs Desktop or the relevant Streamlabs page; similar names can refer to different widgets or services.
- Use the feature-specific date. Music stopped working in Desktop on April 1, 2025; the named widget sunset date is April 12, 2026. The 2024 branding announcement does not provide a sunset date.
- Save what you can access. Export or keep local copies of graphics, scenes, and other assets you own before changing tools. The Collectibles summary indicates previously acquired items remained usable, but check your own inventory and current support guidance rather than relying on an inaccessible announcement summary.
- Replace the function, not just the product name. For goals, match the replacement to the platform and event metric. For music, review licensing. For branding, decide whether you need a design tool or commissioned creative work.
- Test privately or in a low-risk session. Confirm that the replacement appears in the right scene and that alerts or goals reflect the intended event before relying on it during a scheduled stream.
Is Streamlabs shutting down?
The cited notices announce retirements of named tools; they do not say that all Streamlabs products are shutting down. Streamlabs’ help-center overview describes ongoing products and services, but it should not override a retirement notice for a specific feature. For a particular tool, rely on its own dated announcement and current account interface.
