Streamlabs Talk Studio Playlist Not Playing in Order? How to Fix the Background Audio Queue

Talk Studio’s Background Audio queue uses local files. Select tracks together, then check the displayed order and shuffle or repeat setting.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If Talk Studio’s Background Audio is playing tracks in the wrong order, select all the intended audio files together, then check the player’s Queue and its repeat or shuffle setting. Selecting another track later replaces the existing selection rather than adding to it, according to Streamlabs’ Background Audio instructions. If you mean a playlist playing in YouTube itself, these steps do not apply: Talk Studio’s published guidance does not establish a YouTube playlist-order fix.

First, identify which player has the problem

Talk Studio’s Background Audio player queues local audio files selected from your computer. YouTube’s playlist player is separate. Streamlabs’ documentation covers the Talk Studio audio queue and setting up YouTube as a live-stream destination, but does not show Talk Studio controlling the order of a playlist on YouTube.

  • If the tracks and controls are in Talk Studio’s Background Audio player, follow the queue checks below.
  • If the playlist is open in the YouTube app or on youtube.com, the Talk Studio queue steps cannot fix its order. The Streamlabs pages cited here cover live-stream setup, not YouTube playlist playback.

Fix the Talk Studio Background Audio queue

  1. Open Background Audio. In the Talk Studio editor, go to Share > Background Audio.
  2. Select the intended tracks together. In the file picker, highlight all the files you want in the queue before opening them. Streamlabs says that selecting a track and then making a separate selection later replaces the original selection instead of appending the new track. See the Background Audio instructions.
  3. Inspect the Queue. Open the Queue in the player and check that the displayed tracks are the ones you selected and appear in the intended order. With multiple tracks selected, the documented player controls include play/pause and previous/next track.
  4. Check repeat and shuffle. Make sure shuffle is not enabled if you expect a fixed sequence. Streamlabs says one selected track loops automatically; a multi-file queue can be repeated or shuffled. See its queue repeat and shuffle guidance.
  5. Test the queue. Play it and use next/previous to confirm the visible sequence and playback behavior match your intent.

If the queue still plays unexpectedly

Record the selected filenames, the order shown in the Queue, and whether repeat or shuffle is active. Include those details when contacting Talk Studio support. The available Streamlabs instructions do not document a specific reset or repair for an ordering bug, so there is no substantiated reset procedure to recommend.

Why YouTube live-stream settings are not the fix

Streamlabs’ YouTube streaming guide covers matters such as verifying a channel, connecting YouTube as a destination, choosing stream privacy, and preparing a live stream. Its destination troubleshooting guide addresses prerequisites for going live. Neither describes controls for changing the order of a YouTube playlist.

If the issue is in YouTube, note which app or browser you are using, which playlist is affected, and whether shuffle is enabled in that player. Consult current YouTube playback help for that specific player; do not treat Talk Studio’s local-file queue instructions as a YouTube fix.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is to keep uploaded videos looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a separate option from Talk Studio’s local Background Audio queue. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on.
