If your Streamlabs Mobile YouTube stream turns blurry, stutters, or loses audio after running for a while, the timing alone does not reveal the cause. Check the live indicators while the problem is happening: YouTube’s stream health and any error messages, plus Streamlabs’ bitrate and frame rate where available. Then test whether the issue follows your connection, improves when you reduce output settings, or changes when you reduce phone workload.
First, identify what “quality drops” means
Note the symptom and roughly when it starts. A blurry picture, choppy or frozen video, audio trouble, a disconnected broadcast, and increased playback delay are different observations; do not assume they share one cause.

- Does the picture become pixelated or blurry, or does motion stutter?
- Does video freeze while audio continues, or do both stop?
- Does the stream disconnect, or do viewers mainly report delay or buffering?
- Does the change happen in the same location and on the same connection, or after moving or switching between Wi-Fi and cellular?
Streamlabs distinguishes network-related dropped frames from encoder-related skipped frames and compositor-related lagged frames. Those categories can help guide diagnosis, but the symptom and its timing do not establish which one is responsible. The available documentation does not identify a confirmed Streamlabs Mobile defect that begins after a few hours or quantify how often this happens.
Check stream health while the problem is happening
- While live, look at Streamlabs Mobile’s live display for bitrate and frame rate, if shown. Note whether either changes as the picture worsens.
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and inspect the mobile stream’s current status and any error messages. YouTube says the mobile status reflects the health of the stream being sent from the phone.
- Record the exact error text and the time it appeared. A viewer’s buffering or delay alone does not establish that the phone’s encoder is failing: delivery also involves ingest, transcoding, content delivery networks, and playback buffering.
Do this during the poor-quality period rather than relying only on what you remember after ending the broadcast. Official references: Streamlabs Mobile setup guide, YouTube guidance for viewing live metrics on Android, and Streamlabs’ Mobile Streaming FAQ.

Test whether the connection is the weak point
If the change coincides with moving, crowded surroundings, weakening cellular reception, or switching Wi-Fi networks, test from a location with a stable connection. Compare what happens without changing other settings at the same time. YouTube recommends using a speed test to assess upload capability, but one result is only a snapshot; it cannot demonstrate that upload performance will remain steady throughout a multi-hour broadcast.
Streamlabs’ ping guidance discusses latency, packet loss, and jitter. If you contact support, they may ask for a continuous ping test; a single speed-test result and a continuous connection test answer different questions. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance and Streamlabs’ guide to running and reading a ping test.

Streamlabs Network Boost is a conditional option for combining internet connections, including Wi-Fi and cellular, and its setup guidance also describes hotspot arrangements. Consider it only when your observations point toward connectivity: another connection will not address encoder load, compositor lag, or an app issue.

In Streamlabs Mobile, review the output resolution, expected frame rate, and maximum bitrate settings. If the current stream is not sustainable on the connection available, try a lower maximum bitrate, lower resolution, or lower frame rate. Change one setting at a time and compare stability against picture quality during representative movement and audio.

- This dual phone mount can support one cell phone shooting in portrait mode while simultaneously shooting an additional phone in landscape. You can take photos or videos in two different modes at the same time to make sure you get the best shot.
- Both cell phone holders can be adjusted and rotated 360°. You can adjust the shooting angles of the two cell phones by rotating the two round knobs on the back of the mount. This helps you obtain more creative shooting angles.
- Dual Mount setup utilizes a 1/4" universal standard screw to easily attach to a tripod, hand-grip or selfie stick. Both cell phone clips can be removed and used separately for your convenience.
- Cell phone holder adjustable width is 60-95mm (2.36-3.74inch), wide enough to fit with most cell phones including the phone case.
YouTube’s current H.264 encoder recommendations include 5 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 8 Mbps for 720p at 60 fps. These are YouTube recommendations for encoder input, not guaranteed Streamlabs Mobile presets and not a promise that a particular phone or network can sustain those rates. Choose a quality that is reliable for your connection and check stream health. YouTube advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.” See its encoder settings guidance.
Do not assume that a viewer-side change means you should immediately lower every setting. First note the live indicators; then test a modest adjustment and see whether the symptom changes under comparable conditions.

Despite extending up to 72", it folds down to just 11" for easy storage in a backpack, carry-on, or everyday bag, making it convenient for travel, hiking, events, home recording, and creator use without carrying separate phone stands or light camera tripods.
Reduce avoidable phone workload
Before a session, follow Streamlabs’ mobile preparation guidance: close background apps, charge the phone beforehand, and avoid charging during the stream if possible. Compare a test with the same scene and movement so you can tell whether the change is repeatable.
These are low-risk preparation steps, not proof that overheating caused the drop. The reviewed guidance does not set a temperature threshold or establish a long-session thermal defect. Treat heat as a possible factor only if you have relevant evidence, such as a device temperature warning or a repeatable slowdown that tracks temperature.

When Network Boost may fit
Network Boost is worth investigating when live indicators and repeatable observations point to connection instability. Streamlabs’ current setup article says the primary streaming device must be iOS at launch, a secondary device can be iOS or Android, and an active Ultra or Ultra+ subscription is required. Check the linked instructions for the current setup and requirements, which may change.
A second connection or hotspot is not a universal cure. Consider coverage where you stream, sustained upload capacity, data allowance, device compatibility, and total cost; the documentation does not establish that any particular carrier or hotspot will work well in your area.
What to send Streamlabs support
If the issue continues, gather details that let support distinguish connection, encoding, and compositor symptoms. Streamlabs’ notice about YouTube go-live issues concerns problems starting a broadcast, not a confirmed fix for quality drops after hours; for a persistent issue, use the relevant support guidance and submit a ticket if needed.
