For a mostly static, long-duration YouTube stream from Streamlabs Mobile, start with 720p at 30 fps and about 3 Mbps video bitrate using H.264. YouTube lists 3 Mbps as its recommended H.264 live bitrate for 720p30. Treat it as a cautious starting point, not a guarantee that your phone, connection, or app can stay live continuously. Test your actual scene and network before relying on the stream.
Recommended Streamlabs Mobile starting settings
Streamlabs Mobile’s Video Settings let you choose output resolution, expected frame rate, and maximum bitrate. The app’s guide also describes adaptive bitrate among its advanced settings, but does not prescribe one universal preset for every device. These are YouTube’s recommended H.264 live-ingest video bitrates; the values are settings guidance, not measured results or a promise of performance. YouTube’s encoder page does not display a publication date: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

How to choose and test the setting
- Start conservatively. For a mostly static scene, select 720p, 30 fps, and approximately 3 Mbps maximum bitrate. A lower frame rate is often a reasonable starting point for a static picture; fast movement may benefit from more frames, but higher modes also require more bitrate.
- Test the real setup. Make a private or unlisted test using the planned phone position, lighting, audio, scene, and network. YouTube advises testing representative audio and movement, checking upload bitrate, and monitoring stream health and messages during the event.
- Check before increasing quality. Look for dropped frames, stream-health warnings, soft or blocky video, and audio problems. Allow meaningful upload headroom above the video bitrate because network capacity varies; the reviewed guidance does not prescribe one fixed margin.
- Increase one setting at a time. If the test remains stable and the picture needs more detail, try 1080p30 at YouTube’s 5 Mbps H.264 recommendation. For motion that benefits from smoother playback, test 720p60 at 8 Mbps or 1080p60 at 17 Mbps. Do not jump to a higher mode merely because the phone offers it.
- Step down if health deteriorates. Reduce resolution, frame rate, or bitrate, then run another test. Streamlabs lists adaptive bitrate as an advanced setting, but its guide does not define one universal mobile configuration for it.
Which settings matter beyond resolution and bitrate?
YouTube’s live encoder guidance specifies RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, H.264 as a supported video codec, constant bitrate (CBR), and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. YouTube’s H.264 bitrate recommendations distinguish resolution and frame rate; its table also includes minimums, which are not the same as the recommended targets above.

Streamlabs Mobile documents resolution, expected frame rate, and maximum bitrate controls. Do not assume every advanced encoder option in YouTube’s guidance is exposed or user-configurable in the mobile app. Set the controls the app offers, and check YouTube’s stream-health feedback rather than trying to force an undocumented setting.
What 24/7 changes—and what it does not
A phone session is not a proven unattended 24-hour system
Bitrate and resolution do not determine whether a phone can remain connected, powered, and thermally stable for a full day. The Streamlabs mobile guides describe app controls and mobile streaming, but do not establish a universal maximum continuous session duration, supported thermal profile, guaranteed power arrangement, or recovery policy for a 24-hour stream. Confirm the behavior for your specific phone, app version, power setup, and network; do not infer nonstop operation from a successful short test.

Streamlabs’ YouTube mobile guide describes account activation steps including phone verification and a 24-hour first-time live setup period. It also describes Streamlabs Ultra Network Boost as an option that can use multiple internet connections to support mobile reliability. YouTube may not archive a stream longer than 12 hours
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If keeping the complete broadcast matters, plan a local or segmented recording and verify the files; YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. Common problems and practical fixes
- Dropped frames or stream-health warnings: The connection may not sustain the selected mode. Test upload capacity and lower bitrate, resolution, or frame rate; retest on the same network and at the planned stream location.
- Video looks blocky during movement: The selected bitrate may be insufficient for the detail and motion, or the connection may be unstable. First verify stream health; if stable, test a higher YouTube-recommended mode only when upload capacity and phone behavior allow it.
- Phone heats up, loses power, or stops streaming: The sources do not establish a universal mobile fix or safe continuous-use profile. Check device and app guidance, power compatibility, ventilation, and behavior in a supervised test; do not treat a power bank or network feature as an uptime guarantee.
- The full broadcast is missing from YouTube: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured as an archive. Use local or segmented recording if the complete program must be retained, then verify the recordings.
- The live option is unavailable for a new channel: Complete YouTube’s required account activation steps, including phone verification where prompted, and allow for the first-time live setup period described by Streamlabs.
Do not copy LAN-feed settings into YouTube ingest
Streamlabs’ Mobile LAN Streaming Source guide discusses sending a phone video feed over a local network to a computer. It recommends 720p or 1080p and feed bitrates of 5000 or 10000 respectively, using H.264/AVC. Those are LAN-feed settings, not YouTube live-ingest recommendations, so they should not be copied into a YouTube preset without context: Streamlabs Mobile LAN Streaming Source Guide.
