To stop Google Calendar RSVP emails, choose the control that matches the scope you want: set Event responses to None for a selected calendar, or clear Get an email when guests respond on a specific event. The event setting also suppresses automatic replies, but it hides RSVP status from guests using third-party calendars.
Choose the setting by scope

These settings are separate. Use the calendar-level option for a broader change to one calendar’s response emails; use the event-level option when only a particular event or series should be quiet. Google’s instructions for both controls are in Track responses to your event.

Turn off response emails for a calendar
- Open Google Calendar on a computer.
- Open Settings, then find Settings for my calendars and select the calendar you want to change.
- Scroll to Other notifications.
- Open the menu beside Event responses and choose None.
This changes response notification emails for the selected calendar, rather than just one event.

- In Google Calendar on a computer, create an event or open an event you can edit.
- Clear the checkbox labeled Get an email when guests respond.
- Save the event. If it recurs, apply the change to the full series; the option cannot be limited to an individual occurrence.
Google says this per-event checkbox is checked by default. The option is available to personal Google account users, Google Workspace customers, and Workspace Individual subscribers, according to Google’s August 28, 2026 announcement.

Know what the event-level setting suppresses
When Get an email when guests respond is off, the organizer does not receive RSVP emails from Google Calendar users, third-party calendar users such as Outlook users, or automatic replies such as out-of-office messages.
- Responses from Google Calendar users can still be viewed in the event’s guest list.
- The organizer cannot check RSVP status for guests using other calendar services.
- Automatic email replies are suppressed along with RSVP emails.
Choose this event-level setting when eliminating email is more important than seeing third-party guests’ RSVP status. The Event responses calendar-level control is the alternative when you want to change response email notifications for the selected calendar without applying that event-specific tradeoff.

Organizer notifications are not invitee settings
These controls determine whether the event organizer receives response emails. They do not prevent an organizer from being notified when an invitee responds. Google’s Respond to event invitations help page describes the invitee’s RSVP and the organizer notification.

Availability
Google announced the per-event setting on August 28, 2026. Its stated rollout for Rapid Release began that day and could take up to 15 days; Scheduled Release began September 10, 2026 and was expected to take 1–3 days. Those rollout periods have passed. If the checkbox is not visible, consult Google’s current help page because setting labels and availability can change.
