If the TV still changes inputs by itself, some models have a separate automatic HDMI switching control that uses a model-specific remote sequence.
Turn off Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)
- Press Home on the Samsung remote.
- Open Settings → All Settings → Connection → External Device Manager.
- Select Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) and switch it off.
On older Samsung TVs, External Device Manager may be under General instead of Connection. Menu names and locations vary by model. Samsung’s support instructions describe the setting and its menu location.

What Anynet+ changes—and what it does not
Samsung calls HDMI-CEC Anynet+. It lets compatible HDMI devices communicate with the TV, including controlling devices with the TV remote, triggering power actions, and selecting an input when a device starts. Turning it off disables those CEC conveniences.
It does not disable the HDMI ports: picture and sound can still pass through HDMI with CEC turned off, as Samsung Electronics Service Korea explains in its HDMI-CEC guidance.

If the TV still switches inputs by itself
Anynet+ is not the only possible cause of unwanted input changes. Samsung US documents a separate automatic HDMI switching control for some TV models. Samsung says a TV software update may be needed to add the option; the control is not available through one universal menu path.
Try Samsung’s model-specific remote sequence
- With an IR remote: enter Mute, 7, 2, 9, Exit.
- With a Smart Remote: first make sure the TV source is selected, then enter Mute, Volume Down, Channel Down, Mute.
Samsung says no on-screen indicator appears after either sequence. Test the result by turning on a connected HDMI device. These steps are for supported models, not a guaranteed setting for every Samsung TV. See Samsung US’s source-switching troubleshooting guidance.

Troubleshoot continued source changes
A connected device may send an erroneous signal and cause the TV to change sources even when the device is not in use. Samsung recommends updating that device’s firmware and contacting its manufacturer if the switching continues.

- Check the TV’s exact model and consult its Samsung manual or support page if the Anynet+ menu is missing.
- Check for a TV software update, particularly if you are looking for the separate automatic HDMI switching control.
- If the behavior persists, update the connected HDMI device’s firmware and seek help from its manufacturer.
