What the Terrain is like to push, lift, and store
Weight and folded size
At 13.3 kg, the Terrain is a substantial stroller to lift. Historical owners also describe it as bulky and say it takes considerable boot space. Those are individual reports, not measured folded dimensions or a guarantee about fit in a particular car. If you are considering a used one, fold it and try it in your own vehicle before committing; also check whether you can lift it comfortably.

Outdoor use is not the same as jogging
Historical product information describes inflatable tires and a lockable swivel front wheel. Owners have reported using it on grass or gravel, but those accounts do not establish performance on every surface. More importantly, a Steelcraft/Britax representative explicitly said the Eclipse Terrain was not recommended for running or jogging. If you want to run with a stroller, choose a model specifically intended for jogging rather than treating “Terrain” or three wheels as proof that this one is suitable. What owners report—and what those reviews cannot tell you
ProductReview.com.au labels the model discontinued and displays a 3.0 rating from 13 reviews. The page does not state when that aggregate was calculated, and the individual reviews shown are roughly 10–14 years old. Positive accounts mention the canopy, storage, infant-carrier convenience, and handling on varied paths. Other owners describe the stroller as heavy or bulky and report punctures or pressure loss, steering concerns, or wheel wobble. These are examples of individual experiences, not proof that a fault is common—or that a particular secondhand stroller is in good condition.

A 2015 Motherpedia review excerpt identifies compatibility with the Safe-n-Sound Eclipse Unity Infant Carrier. In an archived ProductReview.com.au answer, a Steelcraft/Britax representative said the Terrain was not compatible with a bassinet or toddler seat. Before attaching any carrier, check the exact stroller and carrier model labels, the relevant instructions, and current manufacturer guidance if available. Do not assume that a similar-looking carrier, bassinet, or seat will fit securely.
Checking a secondhand Eclipse Terrain
Because the model is discontinued and the owner reports include wheel and tire concerns, inspect the individual stroller rather than relying on its original feature list. Check:

- Tires and wheels: look for damage, loss of pressure, wobble, and smooth rotation.
- Steering and front-wheel lock: confirm the wheel turns and locks as intended.
- Brakes and frame: check that the brakes engage and release, and look for cracks, looseness, or damage.
- Harness and recline: inspect the harness condition and confirm the backrest adjusts and holds position.
- Folding and storage: operate the fold, check the latch, and test boot fit in your own car.
- Labels and instructions: confirm the exact model and applicable child-weight limit; do not rely on a seller’s description alone.
Can you replace a tire or find parts?
Current parts stock is not established. In an archived response about a failed tire, Steelcraft/Britax said parts were “very limited” and suggested a local bike shop might be able to help with a 12-inch tube. That is a possible lead, not confirmation that a tube is available now or fits every Terrain wheel. Check the archived parts answer on ProductReview.com.au.

Who should consider this stroller?
The Eclipse Terrain may suit someone who has verified a particular used unit’s condition, needs the historically documented carrier configuration, and is comfortable with its weight and boot space. It is a poor fit if you need a jogging stroller, a bassinet or toddler-seat setup, easy lifting, or confidence that replacement parts are readily available. Those requirements are better resolved before purchase than after discovering a missing part or incompatible accessory.
