Braun’s model-specific specification sheet dates to 14 August 2017, and CHOICE lists the iron as discontinued. That status does not prove every unit is gone, but current retailer stock and pricing have not been verified.
What the SI7046VI specification sheet says
Braun’s specification sheet identifies the model as SI 7046 VI, in Velvet Purple. These are manufacturer-listed specifications dated 14 August 2017, not independent performance measurements.

What features are documented
The same model-specific sheet lists a precision zone at the tip, self-clean and anti-calc functions, anti-drip, water spray, easy refill and an included beaker. The listed auto shut-off intervals are 8 minutes in the vertical position and 30 seconds in the horizontal position; these are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of how a particular used or stored unit will behave.

The older SI7046VI sheet names its soleplate Eloxal 3D. Braun’s current TexStyle 7 Pro family page covers multiple variants and mentions features such as FreeGlide 3D and EloxalPlus. Family-level descriptions should not be read as proof that those exact feature names or specifications apply to this model.
Is the Braun SI7046VI still available?
CHOICE marks the SI7046VI discontinued on its listing. That is a reason to check local sellers carefully, not evidence that all remaining stock has disappeared. Current retailer availability and price are not established here. CHOICE displays a $149.00 cost, but it is a listing value rather than a verified current price, and its expert rating and performance score are restricted to members.

- Confirm the type label says SI7046VI/SI 7046 VI and that the seller’s photographs show the same model.
- Check the iron’s condition, especially the soleplate, cord, steam controls and signs of leaks or scale.
- Compare the stated steam output, 300 ml tank, 2.5 m cord and approximately 1.59 kg weight with other models you are considering.
- Ask the seller to confirm local warranty coverage and return terms; CHOICE’s listing notes a 2-year warranty, but that does not establish coverage for every market or second-hand purchase.
- Verify the final price and stock directly with the retailer before ordering.
The available sources do not provide an independently verified head-to-head test against another iron, and CHOICE’s accessible page does not reveal its member-only test results. A model-to-model comparison should therefore use verified specifications, warranty terms and current local offers rather than an assumed ranking.

The product sheet confirms self-clean and anti-calc functions but does not provide a complete SI7046VI cleaning procedure. Braun’s manual library includes manuals for TexStyle 7 Pro variants; use documentation that matches the appliance’s type label before following model-specific maintenance steps. Manual material for Braun TexStyle steam irons also says to follow garment care labels and warns, “Do not use commercial decalcifiers, they may damage the iron.” Check the exact SI7046VI manual for applicable instructions.
