The Nuna MIXX² ST-48-001CA is an older stroller model that CHOICE lists as tested in 2018. Its publicly visible specifications show a 14.9 kg stroller, a 22.7 kg maximum child weight and a 4.5 kg basket capacity. CHOICE’s detailed score and test findings are member-only on the available product page, so the public information does not support a model-specific performance or safety verdict.
What the CHOICE review establishes
CHOICE identifies the product as the Nuna MIXX² ST-48-001CA and gives its test year as 2018. The page’s full rating and detailed test results are restricted to members. That means the available public listing establishes that the model was tested, but not whether it passed, failed, or how it ranked. See CHOICE’s MIXX² ST-48-001CA listing.

What is known about safety—and what is not
CHOICE’s 2023 article reports that 71 of 152 single strollers tested between 2013 and 2022 failed at least one mandatory or voluntary safety standard. That is a population-level finding, not the MIXX²’s result. CHOICE also explains that its grading takes the severity of a failure into account, and some products with very minor failures may still be recommended. Read CHOICE’s explanation of stroller test results.
CHOICE cautions: “It’s important to note the year the model was tested in, as results from one year are not applicable to models with the same name that were manufactured earlier or later.” The 2018 test listing should therefore be treated as model- and test-year-specific, not as a blanket safety judgment about every MIXX² or a guarantee about a used stroller’s present condition.

MIXX² is not MIXX next
The MIXX² ST-48-001CA is an older model; MIXX next is a separate, newer stroller. Current MIXX next specifications, accessories and compatibility information should not be assumed to apply to the MIXX². Nuna’s MIXX next product page and MIXX next support FAQ describe the newer product, not proof of fit for ST-48-001CA.
Will a Nuna PIPA car seat fit the MIXX²?
A retailer listing for SKU ST-48-001CA describes the MIXX² as a four-mode stroller and says it can pair with a Nuna PIPA car seat. That is retailer product copy, not enough to confirm which PIPA seat, adapter, or production version fits a particular MIXX². View the retailer listing for the MIXX².

Nuna’s MIXX next manual says its ring adapter is for a Nuna PIPA series infant seat with a Nuna MIXX series stroller, and cautions against using accessories not specified by Nuna. Because that manual covers MIXX next, it does not confirm compatibility with the older ST-48-001CA. Consult the MIXX next manual, but do not use it as a substitute for the MIXX² instructions.
- Locate instructions that match the stroller’s exact model and product code. Nuna Canada’s manual directory is a starting point; the directory listing available here does not establish that a manual specifically labeled ST-48-001CA is present.
- Check the manual for the exact seat model and adapter, rather than relying on “PIPA” or “MIXX” family names alone.
- If the model-specific fit is unclear, ask Nuna to confirm the stroller code, seat model and adapter before use.
Is this stroller worth buying now?
The public evidence supports a limited assessment: the model’s listed specifications and 2018 test year are identifiable, but its detailed CHOICE result, current retail availability, current price and exact accessory fitment are not established by the cited pages. For a used or older-stock stroller, compare the specific unit’s condition and included parts against the correct instructions, and verify that any car seat or accessory is approved for that exact model. Do not treat a MIXX next listing as a listing for the MIXX².

The available public MIXX² listing does not provide its full independent test breakdown.
