The best plan depends on contributor count, required features and the combined cost of plan and payment fees—not simply whether you sell online. On Squarespace’s US pricing page, checked October 7, 2026, plans ranged from $25 per month with monthly billing to $19 per month when billed annually. Annual prices require a year-long commitment.

Which Squarespace plan should you choose?
Start with the features you need and the people who need site access. Every listed plan supports selling products or services, but contributor limits, fees and other commerce capabilities differ.
Choose Basic for a small site with up to two contributors
Basic is the entry point if two contributors are enough and its transaction fees work for your sales model. Its documented fees include 2% for online-store transactions and 7% for digital content and memberships. Include these in your cost estimate rather than comparing subscription prices alone.
Consider Core when you need more contributors or site controls
Core is the first listed tier with unlimited contributors, advanced analytics and custom CSS and JavaScript. It is a more relevant starting point than Basic when a larger team or those specific controls are requirements.

Evaluate Plus or Advanced against your actual sales needs
Plus offers lower payment-processing and digital-product fees than lower tiers and more video storage. Advanced adds the lowest plan-level fees among the listed tiers and features such as carrier-calculated shipping. These higher tiers are worth evaluating when their specific fee savings or features address a real need; selling online alone does not establish that you need Advanced.
Rank #3
For a useful comparison, estimate your expected sales and transaction types, then check both the plan fee and the payment processor’s fee. A zero plan-level transaction fee does not make payment processing free. Rates and payment options depend on the plan, payment solution, geography and transaction type. Squarespace’s plan-selection guide explains how features and fees vary.
What Squarespace includes
Squarespace describes its subscription as an all-in-one content management system that bundles content hosting, designed layouts, website and online-store editing, and support for SEO best practices. Its product materials also list templates, the Fluid Engine drag-and-drop editor for version 7.1 websites, built-in AI tools, plan-dependent AI credits and site editing through its app. “Beautiful” or “professional” design is product positioning, not an independently measured outcome.
Rank #4
Beyond websites and stores, the platform documents sales of physical products, creative services, classes and workshops, limited-release drops, content and memberships. It also describes invoicing and tools for managing creative-service work. Squarespace states that users “can invoice clients, and sell products, content, and memberships on any plan,” while noting that plan features and fees differ. See its guide to choosing a plan and selling guide for the published details.
What to weigh before subscribing
Recurring cost and annual commitment
The lower displayed annual monthly equivalent comes with annual billing, not a month-to-month price. Factor in the full commitment, possible taxes and domain renewal after its first year when comparing your costs.
Best Value
Feature limits and selling fees
Contributor access, analytics, custom-code access, video storage, shipping and commerce fees vary by plan. For a store, calculate plan-level fees and payment-processing charges together for the sales you expect; the amount depends on your plan, payment solution, location and transaction type.
Trial limits
The 14-day trial provides access to most premium features, but trial sites cannot accept payments. That limits your ability to test live checkout before subscribing, and some premium features are plan-specific. Check the trial guide for current terms.
Squarespace pros and trade-offs
| Potential advantage | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|
| Hosting and website tools are bundled in one paid subscription, potentially reducing the number of separate services a basic site owner must arrange. | The subscription is recurring, and the displayed annual monthly rate requires an annual billing commitment. |
| Templates, a drag-and-drop editor and mobile-app editing are documented options. | Plan features, contributor limits, fees, analytics, code access and storage are not the same across tiers. |
| Product, service, content and membership sales are supported, with additional commerce features on selected tiers. | Store owners need to assess plan-level fees alongside payment-processing charges. |
| Invoicing and creative-service management tools are part of the documented offering. | The trial cannot accept payments, so it cannot demonstrate a live checkout before subscription. |
These points describe published product capabilities and terms, not independent findings about ease of use, site speed, SEO results, support or customer satisfaction.
