There is no proven overall winner yet. Snapdragon X2 Elite is a premium PC platform with an integrated GPU and an 80 TOPS NPU; NVIDIA RTX Spark pairs an Arm CPU with an integrated Blackwell GPU and a software stack aimed more directly at CUDA, graphics, and local AI. The better choice depends on your applications and the finished PC—not a comparison of isolated TOPS figures. No independent, same-system head-to-head results establish which is faster.
What are Snapdragon X2 Elite and RTX Spark?
Both are Arm-based platforms intended for Windows PCs, but they are not identical classes of chip. Qualcomm describes Snapdragon X2 Elite as a premium PC platform built around Oryon CPU cores, Adreno integrated graphics, and a Hexagon NPU. NVIDIA describes RTX Spark as a system-on-chip combining a Grace CPU and integrated Blackwell GPU. Their vendor positioning differs: Qualcomm emphasizes productivity, creativity, multitasking, and on-device AI; NVIDIA foregrounds AI development, local inference, creative graphics, and gaming. Those are manufacturers’ intended-use claims, not independent performance findings.

Specifications also depend on the exact SKU. Qualcomm’s product brief distinguishes two Snapdragon X2 Elite configurations from the separate, higher-memory-bandwidth X2 Elite Extreme. NVIDIA’s developer overview describes the highest-end RTX Spark SKU. A PC’s cooling, power limits, memory configuration, and OEM implementation will affect what it can sustain.

How do the published specifications compare?
| Specification | Snapdragon X2 Elite | NVIDIA RTX Spark |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Qualcomm lists 18 cores for X2E-88-100 and 12 cores for X2E-80-100. The separate X2 Elite Extreme, X2E-96-100, has 18 cores. Qualcomm product brief | NVIDIA lists a 20-core Arm v9.2 CPU in its highest-end SKU: two clusters, each with five Cortex-X925 performance cores and five Cortex-A725 efficiency cores. NVIDIA developer overview |
| Graphics | Adreno X2-90 or X2-85, depending on Elite SKU. Qualcomm product brief | Integrated Blackwell GPU. NVIDIA developer overview |
| AI capability | Qualcomm states an 80 TOPS NPU for X2 Elite and X2 Elite Extreme. This is the NPU figure, not a direct measure of performance in a particular AI application. Qualcomm launch release | NVIDIA states up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance for RTX Spark. This is a vendor platform claim, not a directly comparable NPU measurement. NVIDIA announcement |
| Memory | The two X2 Elite SKUs use LPDDR5x and list 152 GB/s bandwidth. The distinct X2 Elite Extreme lists 228 GB/s; do not assume that figure applies to every Elite PC. Qualcomm product brief | NVIDIA lists up to 128 GB of coherent shared LPDDR5 memory on a 256-bit interface, with up to 300 GB/s bandwidth. NVIDIA developer overview |
The numbers do not form a simple ranking. TOPS and FP4 petaflops describe different platform claims and do not establish how quickly a specific model runs. Memory bandwidth figures also come from different platforms and do not predict application results by themselves. For AI work, available memory capacity, supported model formats, framework support, and performance on the workload you actually run matter together.

Which is better for Windows apps and development tools?
Windows on Arm can run many x86 applications through Microsoft’s Prism emulation layer, which supports 32-bit and 64-bit x86 apps and has added AVX/AVX2 support. Microsoft says Prism has been tuned for RTX Spark’s microarchitecture. That does not guarantee that every application, driver, peripheral, game, or anti-cheat system will work. Check the specific app and hardware configuration you need before choosing a PC.
RTX Spark has a more explicit GPU software story for developers: NVIDIA and Microsoft name CUDA, TensorRT, OptiX, RTX, and planned Windows-native AI integrations. If your workflow depends on CUDA or a particular NVIDIA-oriented tool, verify that the exact software is available and supported on the Windows configuration you plan to buy. Microsoft also identifies MATLAB support through Prism and lists selected apps, developer tools, anti-cheat components, and games being added or planned for RTX Spark; those references are not a guarantee of universal compatibility. Qualcomm’s stated 80 TOPS NPU capability may be relevant to supported on-device AI features, but that number alone does not tell you whether your preferred framework or application will use the NPU. For either platform, confirm the application’s support for Windows on Arm and the relevant accelerator, rather than relying on a general claim about compatibility or AI capability.

Which suits local AI, graphics, and gaming?
Local AI
RTX Spark is the more clearly specified option for users whose local AI workflow depends on NVIDIA’s GPU software stack or needs large shared-memory capacity: NVIDIA announces up to 128 GB unified memory and up to 1 petaflop FP4 performance. These are vendor specifications, not proof that a particular model will fit or run at a particular speed. Check memory needs, framework support, and the exact model’s requirements.
Snapdragon X2 Elite is positioned for on-device AI and includes an 80 TOPS NPU. That is a useful platform capability, but it does not establish that it will outperform RTX Spark or support the same tools. Choose based on the software and acceleration path your AI workload uses.
Creative graphics and games
NVIDIA’s integrated Blackwell GPU and RTX software stack may be a natural fit for applications built around NVIDIA technologies, while Qualcomm lists Adreno graphics for X2 Elite. The available sources do not provide comparable graphics benchmarks, game frame rates, or a verified compatibility matrix, so they cannot establish a winner for creative workloads or gaming. For a specific game, also confirm that it runs on Windows on Arm and that its anti-cheat system supports the device.

What do Qualcomm’s performance claims show?
Qualcomm says Snapdragon X2 Elite delivers up to 31% faster performance at ISO power and uses up to 43% less power than the prior generation. Qualcomm separately claims up to 75% faster CPU performance than unnamed competition at ISO power for the X2 Elite Extreme—not the regular X2 Elite SKU. These are Qualcomm’s claims, not independent test results, and the Extreme comparison is not a comparison with RTX Spark. Qualcomm’s launch release

How should you decide?
- Choose by application first: list the exact Windows apps, AI frameworks, games, drivers, and peripherals you rely on, then confirm their support for the specific PC.
- For CUDA-dependent development or GPU-heavy local AI: investigate RTX Spark’s software support and memory configuration, and wait for testing of the actual retail system before assuming a performance advantage.
- For a premium general-purpose PC with on-device AI features: consider an X2 Elite system if its applications and configuration meet your needs; the 80 TOPS figure alone is not a reason to expect a specific app to run faster.
- For mobile use: compare battery life and sustained performance from reviews of the exact laptop. The cited platform claims do not establish real-world runtime.
- For a compact desktop: compare final memory, cooling, ports, noise, price, and availability for the specific model, not just the chip’s headline figures.
A reliable head-to-head verdict requires finished retail PCs tested under the same workloads, alongside verified prices, application compatibility, and power behavior. Until those results are available, the evidence supports choosing by software fit and system configuration rather than declaring one platform universally better.
