On a TV, open Netflix and press the remote’s Back button to return to the menu. On a phone or tablet, tap My Netflix at the lower right; in a browser, use the profile icon at the upper right. Netflix does not use one universal menu button across every device.
Find the menu on a TV or streaming device
- Open Netflix and go to its home screen.
- Press Back on your remote. Netflix’s guidance describes this navigation action—not a dedicated Netflix button—as the way to return to the menu. Netflix’s profile-switching instructions explain the steps.
- To choose a profile, go to the profile icon in the menu and select the one you want.
On Netflix’s updated TV layout, shortcuts for TV shows, movies, games, My Netflix, and profiles appear in a menu at the top. From the homepage, pressing Back returns to that menu. Netflix says the updated experience depends on country and hardware requirements; devices that do not receive it continue using the existing experience. Menu position and labels can therefore vary. Netflix’s TV-layout update describes the rollout.

Switch profiles on a phone, tablet, or browser

These controls are different from the TV remote’s Back action. The platform-specific steps are in Netflix’s profile-switching instructions.

Look for help, settings, or sign-out options
Where those options appear depends on the device and menu layout. In Netflix’s Vizio TV and Blu-ray player guidance, a left-side menu includes Get Help at the bottom. In a top-menu layout, navigate left to the profile icon to find profile or help options. On some devices, Settings may appear where Get Help is absent. Netflix’s Vizio and Blu-ray instructions describe that device-specific variation.

If Get Help or Sign out is missing
Netflix documents this button sequence as a troubleshooting route for cases where Get Help or Sign out cannot be found—not as the normal way to open the menu:
- Using the remote, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up.
- Choose an option offered on your device, such as Sign out, Start Over, Reset, or Deactivate.
Available options can differ by device. See Netflix’s troubleshooting instructions for the sequence and context.
