For most compact kitchens, start with a 24-inch TV; choose a 15.6-inch screen when space is tight, or consider 32 inches if you have a more open room and watch from farther away. Before choosing, measure the spot, decide whether the TV will sit on a counter, mount on a wall, or fold under a cabinet, and check the exact model’s apps, inputs, and mounting details.

Choose a screen size for the space and viewing distance
15.6 inches for a very tight spot
A 15.6-inch display can fit a small counter or under a cabinet where a conventional TV is awkward. The Echo Show 15 is a smart display rather than a standard television: it can provide Fire TV and household widgets, but its reported lack of HDMI input rules out directly connecting a conventional cable box or game console. The SYLVOX flip-down model is purpose-built for under-cabinet placement, while the Feihe is a compact TV with a tuner and multiple reported inputs.
24 inches as a practical starting point
A 24-inch model is a sensible first size to consider in many compact kitchens. LG describes 24–32 inches as a common small-TV range and advises considering viewing distance and intended use. Its guidance is general, not a room-specific sizing rule; measure the available width and consider whether the screen will be visible from where you actually stand or sit. 32 inches for more open kitchens
If you watch from farther away or have room for a larger screen, RTINGS’ September 30, 2026 guide names the Samsung QN32Q8FAAFXZA (Q8F) its best 32-inch TV. It lists 4K resolution, Tizen smart features, and wall-mount capability, and says it is bright enough for glare in a moderately lit room. RTINGS also notes that it is expensive and has raised blacks in dark-room viewing. This is a larger alternative, not a natural fit for every counter. Decide where the TV will go before choosing a model
Countertop
A counter corner is usually the simplest placement if it does not take needed prep space. Check the set’s footprint and whether its viewing angle works as you move around the kitchen. Keep electronics away from cooking heat and steam; the sources cited here do not establish a universal safe-distance number.

Wall
A wall can preserve counter space and improve visibility, but a mount must match the exact TV’s VESA pattern, weight, and installation surface. The kitchen-TV guide reports a 200 × 200 VESA pattern for the Insignia pick. Treat that as a model-specific claim to verify in the manufacturer’s manual before buying a mount. RTINGS reports that the Samsung Q8F can be wall-mounted; check the precise SKU’s documentation for its mounting details.
Under a cabinet
A flip-down display can be tucked out of the way when not in use. Measure cabinet width, depth, clearance, and the screen’s swing or rotation path; also confirm the mounting requirements and installation surface. The reported SYLVOX 360-degree rotation feature and other specifications should be verified for the exact current model.

Match the TV’s features to how you watch
Resolution and screen sharpness
The six smaller options include reported 720p and 1080p models. The Insignia and Feihe picks are listed as 1080p; the Roku and Westinghouse as 720p. On compact screens, HD can look sharp at typical viewing distances, according to LG’s general guidance. A higher resolution may matter more when you sit close, watch detailed content, or prefer a sharper image; weigh that against price and the actual content you watch.

Apps and smart platform
The recommendations include Fire TV, Roku, and Google TV. Check that the exact apps you use—including any cable or TV-provider app—are supported on the model and software version you plan to buy. The kitchen-TV guide flags provider-app limitations for the Feihe, specifically naming Xfinity, DirecTV, and Spectrum, but that compatibility claim should be confirmed against the current device and software rather than assumed to remain unchanged.

Audio and controls
Kitchen noise can make dialogue hard to hear. Compare speech clarity in reviews that test the exact model, and look for controls that suit your routine: the guide reports an Alexa voice remote for the Insignia, Bluetooth headphone mode and screen-off audio for the Roku, and a headphone jack for the Insignia. These are reported features, not standardized sound-test results; verify them before purchase.
Inputs and tuner
Make a short list of the devices you plan to connect, then check the exact model’s input panel and tuner. An antenna needs a compatible antenna input and tuner; a cable box or console generally needs an available HDMI input. The guide reports HDMI, USB, AV, VGA, and antenna connections across different models, not all on every TV. The Echo Show 15’s reported lack of HDMI makes it a poor fit if a direct cable-box or console connection is essential.
Check these details before you buy
- Measure the location, including width, height, depth, cabinet clearance, and the viewing angle.
- Choose counter, wall, or under-cabinet placement based on usable work space and your viewing position.
- Confirm the exact model number, resolution, smart platform, required apps, tuner, and each input you need.
- For a mount, confirm the TV’s VESA pattern and weight against both the mount and the installation surface.
- Recheck current stock and specifications. RTINGS’ availability update notes that its former Roku Select 2023 pick became impossible to buy and was removed, illustrating how quickly lineups can change.
A 2024 KIVI catalog describes a dedicated 32-inch Full HD KitchenTV with a supplied adjustable wall bracket, but that older catalog does not establish present-day availability. It is evidence that purpose-built kitchen TVs exist, not confirmation that this model can currently be purchased.
