If SingleFileZ saves an Indian news article without some images, first check whether those images loaded in the page, then enable capture of content loaded while scrolling. If that does not work, test simulated scrolling; only try the Referer-header option when there are signs of cross-origin blocking or hotlink protection. There is no documented single image-loading behavior shared by Indian news sites, so treat these as site-specific checks rather than a country-wide explanation.
Why images may be missing from a saved article
SingleFileZ can include page resources that are not displayed or already cached, but whether deferred images are saved depends on capture settings and how the page reveals them. SingleFile’s help describes capturing content loaded while scrolling as best effort, not a guarantee. A site may reveal images only after scroll events, or an image request may fail for a different reason. These are possibilities to test—not established traits of Indian publishers.

Start by distinguishing the symptom: an image that appears only after scrolling points toward deferred loading; cross-origin request errors may indicate a blocked resource; failures across unrelated sites suggest a browser or extension issue. Canvas-based image representations and video snapshots can also be restricted by browser security and may not be recoverable through an image-capture setting.

Confirm the image loads in the article tab
Open the article in your browser and check the location of a missing image. Let the page settle, then scroll through the relevant section. If the image appears only after scrolling, that is useful evidence that the page defers loading it; if it never appears in the original tab, SingleFileZ may not have an image available to capture.

Enable deferred-content capture
In current SingleFile help, the relevant option is described as “save content loaded while scrolling.” Make sure the equivalent option is enabled in your extension’s settings. The SingleFileZ FAQ warns that disabling deferred-image saving can leave resources out of the saved page. Capturing deferred content may take longer, and the help characterizes it as best effort. Option labels and locations can differ by extension version.

Try simulated scrolling for scroll-triggered images
If the image appears as you scroll manually but is absent in the saved file, try the simulated-scrolling option, if available in your version. It dispatches scroll events while waiting and can prompt some pages to reveal deferred content. Use it as a targeted test: simulated scrolling may also move the page unexpectedly and is not a guarantee that every image will load.

Test Referer handling only for likely hotlink blocks
If the capture reports cross-origin request errors or a resource appears to be blocked by hotlink protection, enable the option to pass a Referer header after a cross-origin request error and retry. The help recommends leaving this option unchecked in ordinary cases. If it does not resolve the affected images, restore the default rather than leaving a broader setting enabled without benefit.

Check whether the missing visual is capturable
If the missing item is a video snapshot or an image rendered as a canvas representation, browser security restrictions may prevent saving it. In that case, changing deferred-image or Referer settings may not help. The project documents these and other browser restrictions on its known-issues page.
If the problem persists across pages
When the same failure occurs on unrelated websites, use the project’s general troubleshooting sequence rather than changing site-specific capture options repeatedly:

- If that does not help, reset SingleFile’s options.
- Restart the browser.
- Disable other extensions to check for a conflict, then retry.

Check the current project and option names
The SingleFileZ repository says the project was merged into SingleFile. If you are using a current release, consult SingleFile’s current documentation and look for equivalent file-format, deferred-content, scrolling, and Referer options instead of assuming an older SingleFileZ interface is unchanged. The Firefox listing describes the extension’s purpose, but does not establish that every version has identical controls: SingleFileZ project repository and Mozilla Add-ons listing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does enabling deferred-content capture guarantee every image will be saved?
No. SingleFile’s help describes saving content loaded while scrolling as best effort, and browser security or a failed site request can still prevent capture.
Why should the Referer option usually remain off?
The help recommends enabling it only when a cross-origin error or hotlink protection is implicated; otherwise it is not the targeted fix.
