Current ShrinkTheWeb plan prices, API quotas, and overage costs could not be verified from available official information. A third-party index reported a free tier and a $4.95-per-month lowest paid entry in a snapshot dated May 6, 2026, but that is not a current official quote. Check ShrinkTheWeb’s live plan and billing terms before choosing a plan or estimating spend.
What is known about ShrinkTheWeb pricing
The only recent price figure located is a third-party index’s May 6, 2026 snapshot: it listed a free tier and a lowest paid entry of $4.95 per month. The listing does not establish that either offer remains available, what the paid plan includes, or whether the figure is still current. The index’s snapshot also did not provide a verified per-unit overage price.
That leaves no sound basis for calculating current monthly spend, recommending a specific ShrinkTheWeb tier, or claiming how much an additional screenshot costs. Confirm terms directly with ShrinkTheWeb before purchase.
Which plan details to confirm before budgeting
A headline monthly price does not tell you the effective cost of an API workload. Get clear answers to each of these points in the current official plan table or from the provider:
#1 Best Overall
- Included usage: How many monthly API requests or screenshots does each plan include, and what exactly counts as one request?
- Overages: Is usage beyond the allowance charged automatically? If so, what is the rate and billing unit?
- Quota behavior: Does the API stop, throttle, or continue with additional charges when the allowance is exhausted? Are customers notified beforehand?
- Rate limits and concurrency: What are the per-second or per-minute limits, and how many captures can run at once?
- Plan access: Is API access included at every tier, including any free tier, or restricted by plan?
- Billing cadence and quota reset: Are paid plans monthly, annual, or both? When does usage reset, and do unused requests roll over?
- Capture and delivery terms: Are capture size, refresh controls, caching, image delivery, and retention different by plan?
- Service commitments: What support and service commitments apply to the plan you are considering?
Do not treat unanswered terms as zero-cost or unlimited. If the published terms do not state an overage rate, ask the provider whether usage is blocked or billed once the quota is reached.
Why older ShrinkTheWeb feature descriptions do not settle current plan limits
A 2014 company press release described ShrinkTheWeb as a web-page screenshot service and mentioned on-demand refresh, custom image quality, and a configurable wait before capture. Those are historical descriptions, not evidence of today’s API behavior or plan entitlements. The release also discussed a freemium offering at that time; it does not confirm that a free tier or its terms are still available. Read the 2014 press release.
A third-party category listing links to ShrinkTheWeb documentation, but the listing does not independently establish current API features, prices, or quotas. Use the provider’s current published terms rather than inferring today’s capabilities from older descriptions or category pages.

How to compare screenshot API costs fairly
When evaluating ShrinkTheWeb alongside another screenshot service, compare the same workload and billing definitions—not just the entry price. Record the current, provider-confirmed value for each item:

- Monthly price and billing cadence
- Included requests and the definition of a billable request
- Overage rate and billing unit
- Rate limits and concurrency
- Capture size and refresh controls
- Image delivery, caching, and retention
- Support and service commitments
If a value is not published, mark it as unknown and request clarification rather than filling the gap with another provider’s terms. The available ShrinkTheWeb evidence does not establish current values for these comparison points.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. Its stated pricing starts with 1,000 shots per month free, with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. It bills only clean shots: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, with the outcome identified in response headers. An MCP server provides screenshot tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
