To repeat a logo at the top or bottom of PDF pages, add it as an image watermark—not through the text-only header and footer controls described in Adobe and Foxit’s instructions. Choose the logo file, set its position and appearance, then preview pages to check that it does not cover content.
Logo watermark or text header?
A logo is an image. The Acrobat and Foxit header/footer workflows documented by their vendors are for text and page details such as dates and page numbers; their logo workflows use image watermark controls instead. A watermark can serve as a repeated brand mark near a page edge, but it is not the same kind of object as a true header or footer.

- Use a transparent PNG for best watermark results, as Adobe recommends.
- Acrobat desktop documentation lists PDF, JPEG, and BMP image files as supported watermark sources. Check that your chosen file type is accepted by the editor you are using.
- Choose a version with enough contrast against the page background, and allow clear space around the mark so it remains legible when scaled down.
Add a logo in Adobe Acrobat desktop
- Open the PDF in Acrobat and select Edit.
- Select Watermark > Add.
- Choose File as the source, then select the logo image.
- Adjust the watermark’s position and appearance. Place it near the top or bottom edge to use it as a recurring brand mark.
- Preview the result and apply it to the intended pages. Adobe also documents applying watermarks to multiple PDFs.
For exact placement, inspect more than one page before saving: a mark that clears the title on one page might overlap a chart, heading, or other content on another. Adobe documents appearance and placement controls; checking representative pages is a practical safeguard.

Add a logo in Foxit PDF Editor
- Open the PDF and go to Foxit PDF Editor’s watermark tool.
- Select the image file for the watermark.
- Adjust placement and appearance, including rotation, opacity, and scale.
- Choose whether the watermark appears in front of or behind page content, then review the pages where it will be applied.
Foxit describes these watermark controls in its PDF watermark guidance; its Windows header/footer tool is a separate route for text and page details.

For a text header or footer, select Edit > Header and footer > Add. Enter the text, then adjust formatting, color, margins, and preview before applying it. Adobe’s header/footer documentation also covers applying settings to one or more PDFs.

- Inspect pages with content close to the logo’s position, not just the first page.
- Check that the mark is readable without obscuring text, diagrams, or page numbers.
- Confirm the intended page range and whether the editor is applying the watermark to one document or multiple files.
- If the logo looks too dominant, adjust its scale, position, or opacity and preview again.
