Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe available ShrinkTheWeb documentation does not verify image-URL, binary, or JSON response modes, so it is not possible to give reliable request parameters, payload examples, or headers for them. The sources describe a legacy Drupal integration, not the current API’s response serialization. If you need a documented screenshot API today, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot endpoint and documents its options at screenshotneo.com.
What is documented—and what is not
The Drupal.org ShrinkTheWeb project page describes a Drupal module that uses the service to cache and display website screenshots, including page thumbnails. Drupal.org currently marks that module unsupported and obsolete, reports no supported stable releases, and says it was last updated on 2022-04-15. This status applies to the Drupal module; it does not establish that the ShrinkTheWeb service or API is unavailable. Drupal.org: ShrinkTheWeb

The distinction matters: an integration that requests or renders a screenshot does not, by itself, document how the underlying API returns it over HTTP. The available materials do not establish whether a current ShrinkTheWeb request can return an image URL, raw image bytes, or structured JSON, or what parameters, body structure, content type, or headers such options would use.
What the Drupal guides can tell you
Drupal 8 integration guide
The Drupal 8 setup guide covers access and secret keys, a local thumbnail-cache folder and cache duration, and optional capture settings. Its examples include specific-page captures, custom dimensions, full-length capture, maximum crop height, browser viewport dimensions, a delay after page load, and image quality. It gives a quality range of 1 to 100 and notes that some features require an account upgrade. These are Drupal integration and capture settings, not a current specification for API response formats. The guide was last updated on 2019-03-04. Drupal.org: Setup and usage, Drupal 8

Drupal 7 integration guide
The Drupal 7 guide, also last updated on 2019-03-04, shows historical examples using ShrinkTheWeb theme functions and discusses field formatter support. It explicitly says Drupal 7 is no longer supported. It should not be treated as current API documentation. Drupal.org: Setup and usage, Drupal 7
How to verify a response format before implementing it
Do not infer a response mode from a Drupal setting, an old rendering example, or the fact that the service generates screenshots. Before writing a client, verify these details in current first-party ShrinkTheWeb API documentation or with its support channel:

- Intuitive interface of a conventional FTP client
- Easy and Reliable FTP Site Maintenance.
- FTP Automation and Synchronization
- Whether the requested response body is a URL, image bytes, or structured JSON.
- The exact request parameters and authentication requirements for selecting that response.
- The response content type and any relevant headers, including caching or billing indicators.
- How errors and unsuccessful captures are represented, and whether a successful response includes metadata alongside the image.
- Image delivery, persistence, and caching behavior, including any URL expiration rules if URLs are returned.
Until those details are confirmed, a production client should not hard-code assumed field names, JSON schemas, MIME types, or error behavior for ShrinkTheWeb.
Or skip the browser setup:
For a documented alternative, ScreenshotNeo returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF from a GET request. It accepts cookie and consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be switched off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and responses indicate the page verdict and billing status in headers.
