The best audio mixer for live streaming depends on what you need to connect and route—not on a universal winner. Choose the Yamaha AG06MK2 for a compact, streaming-focused setup with loopback; compare exact Yamaha MG-XU models if you want a conventional analog mixer layout; and consider the RØDECaster Pro II if you need assignable channels, dual USB connections, onboard processing, and recording options.
These are feature-based distinctions drawn from manufacturer specifications, not results of a side-by-side test. The right choice starts with your sources and the audio feeds your stream, headphones, and computer must receive.

What does a mixer do in a live stream?
A mixer brings audio sources together and lets you control how they reach the stream and your monitoring setup. Those sources might include a microphone, game or desktop audio, an instrument, music, a guest, or call audio. GamesRadar’s roundup describes this source-management role in the context of streaming.
Before comparing hardware, list both the inputs you have and the outputs you need. A setup with one microphone and a computer may have different requirements from one that also needs an instrument, a remote guest, separate headphone monitoring, or multiple feeds back to a computer. The number of physical faders alone does not tell you whether a mixer can handle those routes.

Best audio mixers for live streaming by use case
Yamaha AG06MK2: compact mixer with streaming-focused loopback
Yamaha describes the AG06MK2 as a “6-channel live streaming mixer with USB audio interface.” Its published features include two simultaneous condenser microphone inputs, +48 V phantom power on channels 1–2, a Hi-Z guitar input on channel 2, a TRRS connection, loopback, and a mute button. It also lists 1-TOUCH COMP/EQ and REVERB, an amp simulator, and the AG Controller app.
Yamaha specifies two-track 24-bit/192-kHz recording and playback. It lists USB-C support for Windows and Mac, connection routes for iOS and Android, and OBS certification. That certification should not be taken to mean that every computer, operating-system setup, or streaming app will work identically.

How to choose a mixer for your stream
- Count your sources. Include every microphone, instrument, computer or game-audio feed, call or guest source, and any other audio you plan to mix.
- Map the destinations. Decide what the live stream must hear, what you need in your headphones, and which audio feeds must return to the computer. If those mixes need to differ, verify that the mixer supports the routing you require.
- Choose the control style. The AG06MK2 is a compact, streaming-oriented option with loopback and a mute button. MG-XU models use a conventional analog mixer layout, with specifications that vary by model. The Pro II combines physical and virtual assignable channels.
- Check connections and compatibility. Confirm the number and type of inputs, the computer or mobile-device connection you intend to use, and whether your streaming application accepts the required audio source.
- Decide whether you need local recording or production features. Compare the recording destinations, channel assignment, processing, and monitoring connections listed for the exact mixer you are considering.
Check the streaming app’s audio routing before you buy
A product’s listed capabilities do not guarantee that every end-to-end setup will work without configuration. In its USB setup guide for the RØDECaster Pro II, RØDE warns that a browser-based streaming platform may not accept the Main Multitrack source on Windows. If your stream runs in a browser, verify the intended operating system and routing path before purchase rather than assuming multitrack input will be available.
What a mixer cannot decide for you
A mixer’s feature list does not by itself establish that a stream will sound better. The result also depends on how sources are routed and monitored, microphone choice, acoustic conditions, gain setup, and platform configuration. Choose hardware for the inputs, routing, controls, and recording functions you need; those specifications are not a substitute for setting up the rest of the signal chain.
