The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 FE are worth considering if you want wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation (ANC), Ambient Sound, and stem-style controls, especially if you use compatible Samsung Galaxy devices. Their main cautions are ecosystem-dependent features, fit that may not suit every ear, and battery figures that are Samsung estimates rather than guaranteed results. Samsung announced a U.S. launch price of $149.99 in 2025; check current price and availability rather than treating that launch price as today’s offer.
What the Galaxy Buds3 FE offer
Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds3 FE on August 18, 2025, with U.S. availability beginning September 4, 2025. The earbuds have a one-way dynamic driver, three microphones, ANC, and Ambient Sound, which lets you hear more of your surroundings without removing them. Samsung describes the sound as having deep bass and clear treble, and says ANC and call clarity have been improved. Those are manufacturer claims; the available evidence does not establish how the Buds3 FE compare with rival earbuds in controlled listening or noise-cancellation tests.

The controls use the blade-style stem: pinch gestures select or control playback, while swiping adjusts volume. A button on the charging case puts the earbuds into pairing mode. Samsung lists Bluetooth 5.4 and support for Samsung Seamless Codec, AAC, and SBC.
Galaxy Buds3 FE pros and cons
Advantages
- ANC and Ambient Sound: You can reduce outside noise or let more environmental sound through, depending on what you need.
- Stem controls: Pinch and swipe gestures provide on-ear control for selection and volume.
- Broad basic Bluetooth compatibility: Samsung lists Android 11 or later and more than 1.5 GB of memory as its compatibility baseline. Basic Bluetooth listening is broader than access to all Samsung-specific features.
- Useful stated battery capacity: Samsung estimates up to 6 hours of playback per charge with ANC on, or up to 24 hours total when using the case.
Drawbacks and qualifications
- Battery life depends on conditions: Samsung says its estimates come from internal testing with pre-production earbuds paired to a recent Galaxy phone. Use, settings, Bluetooth signal strength, and other factors affect actual results.
- Some features rely on Samsung devices: Auto Switch and Galaxy AI functions require compatible Galaxy hardware and, in some cases, a Samsung Account, software, language packs, or regional support.
- IP54 is not a waterproof rating: The rating applies to the earbuds, not the charging case. Samsung’s U.S. product information says the case is not water resistant.
- Fit is personal: Customer comments include both favorable fit reports and a report of discomfort after an hour. These reviews are individual experiences, not a representative fit test.
- Independent comparisons are lacking: The stated specifications do not establish that the sound, ANC, or call quality outperform competing earbuds.
How long does the battery last?
Samsung’s stated estimates are up to 6 hours from the earbuds and up to 24 hours total with the case when ANC is on. With ANC off, Samsung estimates up to 8.5 hours from the earbuds and up to 30 hours total with the case. These are maximum estimates from internal testing, not guaranteed runtimes. Samsung says actual battery life varies with usage, settings, charging frequency, Bluetooth signal strength, and other factors.

Do they work with non-Samsung Android phones?
Yes for basic Bluetooth use, provided the phone meets Samsung’s listed baseline of Android 11 or later and more than 1.5 GB of memory. Samsung cautions that some features are unavailable on non-Samsung devices, so compatibility does not mean feature parity.
Features with Galaxy-device requirements
- Auto Switch: Limited to specified Samsung Galaxy devices and requires a Samsung Account.
- Galaxy AI Interpreter and Live Translate: Require compatible Galaxy devices. Some language packs, account sign-in, current software, and regional support may also be required. Translation is not performed by the earbuds independently, and Samsung cautions that availability and accuracy vary.
If you primarily use a non-Samsung Android phone, consider whether ANC, Ambient Sound, controls, and ordinary Bluetooth playback meet your needs without those ecosystem features.

Are the Galaxy Buds3 FE waterproof?
No. Samsung lists the earbuds as IP54, but that should not be described as waterproof. The rating is for the earbuds only; it does not cover the charging case. Samsung’s U.S. announcement says the case is not water resistant. Keep the case away from water, and do not treat the earbuds’ rating as permission to submerge them.
Will they fit comfortably?
Comfort depends on ear shape and personal preference. Samsung Australia’s product page showed a 4.3 out of 5 rating from 52 reviews in a snapshot accessed October 7, 2026. That score and the comments can change; reviewers include both people who praise the fit and one who reports discomfort after an hour. They do not establish how the earbuds will fit you. Check the seller’s return policy if fit is uncertain.

How to decide whether they are worth it
The Buds3 FE may suit you if ANC, Ambient Sound, stem controls, and Samsung-device features match your priorities. Before buying, compare the current price and availability in your region, and weigh these practical factors:
- Your phone and tablet: Confirm that the features you want work with your particular devices, not just that Bluetooth pairing is supported.
- Sound and ANC: Specifications and Samsung’s descriptions are not independent head-to-head performance results.
- Battery with ANC on: Use Samsung’s 6-hour earbud and 24-hour total estimates as a reference point, allowing for variation in everyday use.
- Fit and return terms: Comfort reports vary, so a return option can matter if you cannot try them first.
- Durability needs: The IP54 rating is limited to the earbuds; the case is not water resistant according to Samsung’s U.S. information.
- Feature support: Check whether Auto Switch or Galaxy AI features are available for your devices, language, software, and region.
Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement set a $149.99 price when availability began on September 4, 2025. That is historical launch information, not a current quote. Current offers, stock, and long-term reliability are not established here, so check the seller’s live listing before deciding.
