Samsung’s menus and controls can vary by model, software version, and region, so a label or option may look different or be unavailable on your device. Samsung’s UK ringtone guide and Hong Kong guide show the file-selection workflow; the Hong Kong page applies to products for that market.
Why a Spotify song cannot be selected
The ringtone picker needs a music file downloaded and stored on the Galaxy device. A track that is available only inside a streaming service is not a local ringtone file. Samsung UK states: “Tracks that you play via a streaming service (such as Spotify) cannot be set as ringtones.” Its support guide was updated 5 June 2026. A streaming app’s offline listening option does not make its catalog track selectable through Samsung’s ringtone picker; use an audio file you have saved on the phone instead.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.

Check the audio format
Samsung UK lists MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC as supported sound formats for this workflow. The same guide says M4A files need to be converted to one of those formats. Format support and available controls may differ across models and software, so consult the support guidance for your device if a compatible-looking file still will not import.
