Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Blip is a cross-platform option for sending files between devices without first uploading them to Google Drive. It offers a free Community plan for non-commercial use and lists apps for Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone and iPad, and Linux. It is a transfer tool—not a substitute for automatic sync or backup—and neither its platform list nor anecdotal reports establish that every device pairing will work smoothly or that it is always faster than Drive.
What Blip does—and what it does not
Blip is designed to send files between your devices or to other people. In an August 30, 2026 article, Akshay Bhalla described signing in on his devices, seeing them listed, and sending files locally or remotely. Those are his reported experiences, not a guarantee that setup or transfers will be identical for every user. Read the August 30, 2026 account.

A one-time file transfer solves a different problem from keeping folders synchronized or maintaining recoverable backups. Blip’s materials position it as a transfer service, not a backup product. If you need automatic backup, do not assume that sending a file through Blip will keep a separate, continuously updated copy. Bhalla says he uses Syncthing for his own backup workflow; that is his preference, not an independently tested comparison. Blip’s product and plan information.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesHow a transfer is routed
Blip says it connects devices directly over a local network or the internet when possible. Its security page states: “Whenever possible, Blip connects devices directly, either over your local network or the internet.” If a direct connection cannot be made, Blip says the transfer goes through its encrypted relay network. So it would be inaccurate to describe the service as guaranteeing that files never pass through a server. Blip’s security description, updated June 16, 2026.

Supported platforms and the pairing caveat
Blip lists downloads for Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone and iPad, and Linux. That breadth makes it a cross-platform candidate, but a list of supported operating systems does not establish feature parity or prove that every sending-and-receiving combination is reliable. Check that your exact devices are supported and test the pairing with a non-critical file before depending on it. Blip’s platform and plan page.

Bhalla reported repeated failed transfers from an Android device to an iPad in his August 2026 account, and said NAS support was missing at that time. These are dated observations from one author’s use, not verified current defects across all users or versions. If a NAS is central to your workflow, confirm current support before choosing Blip. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Blip faster than Google Drive?
There is no basis in the cited material for a general claim that Blip is faster than Google Drive. Bhalla describes his own impressions, and Blip makes performance claims, but the sources do not provide a controlled, comparable speed test. Actual transfer time can depend on the devices, network, file, and whether the transfer uses a direct route or the relay. Treat “faster” as a possible experience, not a dependable ranking.
